Ok I was reading through another thread, and the topic brought up a TON of thoughts in my head, but I felt like if I shared it there, then I would be completely getting off the topic of the thread, and that seemed rude lol so here it is!
The question was about a "good" Christian. This may raise a few eyebrows, but I don't believe there is such a thing as a good Christian. None of us are "good". Christ cleanses us, and forgives us of our sin. We are nothing without Him. If we are adding good on there, it seems like we are counting the good things we do. "... and all of our righteousnesses are as filthy rags." Isaiah 64:6 This just made me think. What right do we have to look at ourselves and say "Oh, I'm a good Christian." What makes us a better Christian than someone else? Do we think that because we do this, and they don't? Is it because maybe we go to church more than someone else? Christianity is not "a show of hands" - it is a relationship of the heart. Between us and Jesus Christ. We are all condemned, and saved only by the blood of Jesus Christ. None of us are better than someone else...there is no such thing as GOOD. Some of us just may be more spiritually mature and stronger in our walk, while some others are still struggling and "babies" in the faith. But does that mean that one is more good than the other? I don't believe it does.
And this is about strictly Christians. Not ppl who profess to be Christians, but don't live it. I'm just trying to convey the thought that I don't believe there are such things as good Christians. Simply, Christians, saved by Christ Jesus. Nothing more, nothing less.

Thoughts anyone?
