"'Haiku' is a traditional form of Japanese poetry. Haiku poems consist of 3 lines. The first and last lines of a Haiku have 5 syllables and the middle line has 7 syllables. The lines rarely rhyme."

'Hayaku' means 'faster' or 'quickly', and is a play on words using alliteration.

The purpose of this?
Let's try to write some haikus.
Onegaishimasu! ('Please!')

PS(If you don't know, syllables can be counted by the number of times your chin goes down when speaking.)

Cars on a highway
Never-ending tapestry
Without a meaning

Tires screeching, smoking
Death avoided by an inch
But he was texting

In a church, heads bowed
But which people are praying
And which have smartphones?

Colds bring sinus junk
Just when you need to sleep most
You can't sleep for breath

(That's why I'm up so early. I just gave up trying to sleep.)

Pizza egg scramble!
Scrape toppings into a pan
Add eggs and cook

That's actually what I'm eating for breakfast right now. And it's much better than it sounds. Especially because I made it with the top of a supreme pizza. :D

This sinking feeling...
Why do you always follow?
I don't understand.

Haiku, Hayaku
Or so the thread says
How does it matter?

Haiku, Hayaku
Gets everybody trying
It is a fun game.

Haiku, Hayaku
Reminds me of karate
The blows they can land!

Rubber hits the road
I ran over a stinking toad
it started to code (flatline)

Do flush the commode
with all its load
so others dont loathe

I went to the woods.
I sought to live life simply.
I learned, but did not.

(Also, here's a helpful sight for those struggling with syllables in words: How Many Syllables)

I once heard this said:
"The monkey climbs a tree in spring,
and thinks itself tall."

If I were a bird,
and could spread wide my strong wings,
Where then would I fly?

If you were the moon,
and each night I sang to you,
would you like my songs?

Can you still see me,
During the day when you hide?
Is it night again?

I will keep asking,
yet silent as I find the stars,
no answer will come.

Here is my attempt.
isn't this rather pointless?
oh well, this is it.

Just speaking Haiku:
what a chore for me to do.
Alas! I shall try.

Speech is powerful,
even with words restricted,
choose your words wisely.

When words are fleeting,
and your patience has run out,
simply say sorry.

Speak kind and swiftly,
encouraging and graceful,
your friends will thank you.

This I will confess:
There is a girl that I like
her name I know not

Ignore it, I'll try
Argh! this feeling won't go
now I feel silly

My attempt was made.
Failure, I hope it was not
hey, at least I tried.
