Hey,

Since this IS the "Singles" forum... Has anyone out there actually HAD a date recently? If so, how did you meet? How long had you been talking? How did things go? Good, not so good, never again?

At the very least, maybe some of us can cheer you on from the sidelines :) .

Okay wait..... I shall tell you the last date i went on.. if you even classify it as one....... It started off fine i guess. This particular person had been literally begging me to go out with um, so finally i said FINE! Well it ended with yelling and crying literally.. crying.... and trust me.. neither one of those came out of me lol was the weirdest thing ever. All i could do was look on in complete horror as this person was yelling random statements at me and crying lol Take in mind this was only like the first date we had been on... hadnt known um for long at all... sooooooo i would say that didnt go to well huh

I have something else to point out about dates here......... never go on one if you know the other person is a cry baby............ never go on one if you know the other person likes to fly kites and cry at the same time........... these are big NO NO'S the end

I haven't been on a real date in a while and I miss it. I miss going out somewhere with that special person and feeling like you're the only two people in the world that are as happy as you are at that moment.

Hmm.

Well, at least I'm learning a lot for the time I actually do get asked out (or ask someone out) again. Notes to myself:

Hot coffee. Still a yes? Possibly.

Chainsaws... negotiable. (Battery or electric? I suppose electric would have to be short-range... the cord will only stretch so far.)

Crybabies. No.

Flying kites. Sure!

Flying kites and crying.. definitely not. (Seriously, Sam, that sounds like a horrible time and I'm sorry!)

Yelling and screaming. NO thanks! (Isn't this why most of us haven't dated, after all!) (Where was that chainsaw again?) Just kidding! I think.

Ok, how about, what's the best date you've ever been on? OR something sweet someone did for you?

One of my best dates was when things didn't go right. My boyfriend had planned a special birthday date for me, but the car broke down on the way to dinner. We ended up back at his house where we had a great time talking to his parents who were in town for the weekend. Another great one was when We watched a Spurs game with his cousins. They lost, but we still had a great time.

The first official date I went on... (he became my first "real" boyfriend and I was with him four years) he took me out in his parents' beaten up Chevette.

It was pouring down rain and the car was so rusted out that there was a big hole in the bottom of the floor on his side, hidden by a floor mat...

We're driving down the highway and this HUGE geyser of water shoots up from the floor all over his feet as he's driving...

I felt SO bad for him. I knew he had to have been feeling TERRIBLE.

I tried so hard to be at my best the rest of the night because I wanted him to feel comfortable.

I even left the chainsaw at home (this time. No comment about the other times.)
