I thought about posting this in the music thread, but...

...decided to post it here. I feel like the feedback might be more...

Have any of you...Has anyone ever thought about or felt like this? I mean, think about it...

We chase after all sorts of things, some of us even for the better (such as Christ and His Kingdom)... Yet, even knowing that (like the second or third verse speaks toward)...even after all the things we've chased and whatever you've been/gone through...and yet...something is still missing. We're still not satisfied, content, or fulfilled. There is something...something out there, or maybe inside us...but we still haven't found what it is. So we search...and keep searching...doing this and that...going here and there.

...but we still haven't found what we're looking for. So...what is it, do you think, that we're (or you're) looking for? Why can't we (you) seem to find it?

I know I feel and have felt like this, and think about it with some frequency at times. What about you?

Reece, I honestly don't feel like there's anything that would fit that criteria, but I'll be more specific.

There are times in which I miss things that I don't have. Some of these things I may not even plan on getting (like a husband; I don't plan on marrying, despite occasionally wanting to). There are also things that I hope to get soon (like my own room), but I can't really say that there's anything that I can't seem to find despite searching. I've probably set my expectations for this life lower than most North Americans. I REALLY look forward to the next life (I'm smiling as I type now, thinking about it :)). I think almost all of us long for Heaven in one way or another; this life isn't our home. For now, Jesus is really the only thing (well, the only ONE, of course :)) I fully expect to get if I seek. I know He's endless, and the more we seek Him, the more He'll draw near to us if we obey Him. I know you know that already, but since you asked :).

Didn't mean to Jesus juke ya there, but anyway, love you, Buddy :).

Not at all! Thanks Jill! ^^

I do know, from experience in earnest, but despite that... I can still feel the way this thread addresses. Jesus is why I live and breath, even literally! He's saved me many times from many things, and I live for and love Him.

I just really struggle inside, and am no stranger to storms or darkness... Regardless of all this, my soul is restless. There's something I want and need...at least, I feel this is true, but I just dont know what it is...because I haven't found it yet.

Maybe it's happiness or peace or joy or contentment or adventure or romantic love... I really just dont know...

This may sound simplistic but part of the problem with the idea of people trying to "chase down" that thing they are searching for is that the mind gets overwhelmed with that desire and search, people forget to simply "BE STILL." It is amazing what can be found just in those still places and the answers that can be achieved there. There is beauty in taking time to just stopping to enjoy what you have, worshiping God, and just being.

I think Jilly (who really is one of the most content people I've ever met. :) ) and Hoss made some good points.
I get where you're coming from though. My immediate thought was something along the lines of: I'll never feel quite right here on Earth because I know my true home is not here. Complete satisfaction and perfection will be found only when we're with Jesus forever after this life.

Shameless plug for some indie Christian artists who teamed up to cover that song:
