Hey!

I've been looking for a Christian friend for a while now. Is it wrong I prefer a single woman? It's not that I'm looking for dating necessarily, but I just feel more comfortable knowing that it's a possibility? I don't know what I'm saying! Haha.

I direct you to the church library and ask for the library assistant. She would be happy to help you with any book recommendations.

Here is what I think: You are saying you want a woman, and that it is important to you that she shares your Christitan values, and hope you have shared interests as well that help grow your relationship in the Lord :) May the Lord bless you in this endeavor :D

Sounds like you want a lot of the benefits of dating without the responsibilities, pressure, or constraints. While I wouldn't say it is wrong for you to have single female friends, I don't think it would be a good situation if your main or only Christian friend was a single female that you maybe someday might possibly want to date.

Do you have a church where you could maybe get into a small group? What sort of christian books are you looking to read (fiction, non-fiction, Bible study guides, biographies, christian living type of books, books specifically on singleness or dating or relationships, intense theological treatsies, etc)?

Believe it or not, the Lord still plays matchmaker on occasion. I think you get a better idea of what you want from a relationship and then pray about it. And be persistent in prayer!

What is your motivation for reading with a woman? There’s nothing wrong with wanting a relationship.

A mistake I made was trying to befriend too many women. Looking back on it, I wish I had more guy friends, especially when younger. Maybe you could do the book thing with some guys as well, or some other activity?
