Hi All,

I was just wondering would considering physical attraction to be a important component in a life partner in the future be considered a sinful or unwise choice together with looking at common interests , values , virtues and such ? . I was just confused if rejecting a person on the basis of not being attracted to them physically make me an evil person ?

It's definitely stupid to put physical attraction too high on the totem poll of importance, but I still think it's an important component. To be attracted to someone you do actually have to be attracted.

Definetly considering we are both physical and spiritual beings I'm just confused if its part of our fallen nature ?

I wouldn't date/marry someone I wasn't physically attracted to. That doesn't even make sense to me tbh lol.

No. God invented beauty and programmed humans to recognize and appreciate it.

I think in order for a relationship to work, both partners have to be at least somewhat physically attracted to each other. Otherwise, it's probably not going to work out. I could be wrong, but I would think that's the reality in most (if not all) cases.

Physical attraction is sort of like icing on a cake. Would you eat a cake without icing? Maybe you would, but how long before you say to yourself, "This cake needs some bloody icing!!!"

If someone is friendly I get attracted to him, even if I never saw a pic. Lol on a dating site there was one guy without a pic. I didn't have one either after the bad experience when I did have one on which I looked nice, only shallow half rapists responded. So the pic less guy was really friendly and I already said that I'd go on a date with him, but then he sent a pic, I am sorry, I am shallow, there are boundaries. He scared the heck out of me. He really looked like this comedian we have who plays an angry German teacher and grammar nazi here:

If i'm not physically attracted to a woman, then i'm not interested. If someone wants to label me bad for that, then that's their problem, not mine.

Oh I once went on a date with a guy from a Dutch forum. He was so extreme with: she has to look awesome, so after chatting a while he asked for a pic. I had one there but he needed more pics, so I said yeah that was from 20 years back, but now I look like this and sent him something like that wat woman. Thought he'd get the joke, but he thought it was serious. First complete silence, but then he still wanted to drink coffee. He friendzoned me.

I'm so tired of dumb Christians who try to "guilt-trip" people who appreciate a good looking person and admit that they like good looking people.. "oh that's sinful so carnal blah blah blah" My parents do the same stupid thing... of lecturing me when I tell the truth about me caring about looks Yes I would want that woman to be spiritual (and looks are not the ultimate determinant) but I do care about looks I'm being honest with myself and if that offends people too bad..I don't care...hahahaha....

I'm like give me a damn break if you were buying a used car and there were two cars both the same model but one had a rusty hood and the other had the paint still on it but other than that the cars are the same with wear/tear mileage etc.....which one would you choose? DUH! Of course you would choose the car with the paint still on the hood not the rusted out one b/c the paint looks better than rust....

Super spiritual people really annoy me of late especially when they try to make everything spiritual/carnal give me a break! If you buy a product/furniture in the store you take account looks why should looking for a spouse be any different....whether you believe it or not you are always subconsciously deciding most things based on appearance/look....it's just a fact of life...

I don't care if someone does that, I do it too, but if that's all, that annoys me. If they don't care to read what you write and just respond because the pic is nice, long blonde hair, some make up, while, when I just come out of my bed and put my hair in an ugly knot I look like a monster and put that pic there they'd say no.

Guys never wanted me when I was young. There was one guy I always talked to in church, he never showed one sign of interest. I walked around like a tomboy with my brother's pants. My ex was the only one who saw through it and asked me out, although he was embarrassed to go with me to the city wit my boy race pants on and sandals that were good for my feet. Then for him I changed, wore dresses, make up, long hair, and then the guy who always ignored me would ask me out. Really.

Yea it's not the top thing on my list but I hate when some Christians like to over spiritualize everything and condemn people who are like that (who appreciate spirituality and good looks not one or the other but balance)

I don't support the people who are only about beauty and don't care if the person is horrible as long as they look good.... it is not a sin to appreciate a person's beauty it is a sin to lust after them....I've met way to many people who think if you appreciate a good looking person you are a sinner going to hell i laugh bahahaha it's just stupid legalism/religiousity and if you ask them about my example of a car they won't admit that they lean toward beautiful things it just human nature....total hypocrisy imo.....

I think it's the opposite. It's not really nice to marry someone you're not attracted to because religion says you have to. With that lookalike of a German teacher who irl was a police officer aaaaah even more scary, I really asked God because I thought that was the one He had for me lol. Use some common sense. It's not a sin. Poor Leah with the weak eyes who had a husband that didn't want her.
