Please tell us about yourself. We'd love to know a little bit about your church, your family, or where you live. Here are a few other random questions as well:

How old were you when you met Jesus for the first time if you have :)?

What is your favorite food? You could give a favorite prepared dish, and a favorite plain fruit or vegetable if you'd like. If you don't live in the U.S., that's even better for this question; different foods than most of us are used to!

What pets do you have, if any?

Anything you'd like to say or ask, feel free to do so here. Please be patient, as it might take a few days before anyone responds to you. A lot of us have children or busy jobs and can't log on to the site every day.

Oh, and feel free to post here even if you're married, but since the single people are usually the ones who come to this site looking for friends, I posted this thread in the Singles' forum :).

I used to believe in the concept of just going to church made you a Christian. Or being a morally good person made you a Christian. I would only go to church on Easter and sometimes Christmas. That changed though when I went to a Christian college and in the 2012-2013 school year when I had two roommates who were studying to be pastors. Since then I have a better understanding of Jesus and the actual relationship we have with Him and the meaning of Christianity. I don't know if I have a precise day when I became saved but it was during one of our worship nights as both were also involved with worship in their church. Some things about me is I love dogs and cats. I would like to one day open up some sort of safe house for them. I'm also a huge sports fan and can spend the entire day watching football, baseball, hockey, and basketball games. Speaking of hockey and ice, I've been in Florida all my life and have never been out of state. Which means I have never seen snow. That's something most people don't know about me. Finally my favorite food is pasta/spaghetti/ziti. My grandmother always bakes ziti for Christmas eve and it's something to die for. Hoping yo get to know the rest of you on here a little bit more as well. God bless you all!

I had to stop and work out when I gave my life to Jesus, I was raised in the Catholic Church but we stopped going when I was about 12. It wasn't until I was about 27 when I did an ALPHA course and shortly after gave my life to The Lord. I still regard myself as a begginer.
I live in New Zealand and my favourite food is roast lamb !!!! with roast potatoes, parsnips, pumpkin and Kumra (sweet potato) oh and lots of gravy.
I have gone back to school to do a degree in Counselling which is really scary but I truly believe it's what the God wants me to do.

I just got my bachelor's in psychology in May and want to go in counseling as well. I know God will do something with it for you. Welcome to CC!

Hey congratulations, well done. I looked at doing psychology but counselling felt right. It amazes me how God works things in our lives and opens doors. I am very lucky

I got confused here for sec.

Jilly81 and jsr1221 - Both of your avatar are very similar looking and I respectfully ask that either one of you change your avatar so there wouldn't be another helpless victim like me or otherwise I will change my avatar to some sun setting picture and make this thread even more confusing.

Respectfully,

Christian

Christian74 - I think you're right, as I myself take approximately one one-hundredth of a second to discern that I'm not looking at one of my own posts when I see jsr1221's avatar. That's on a good day, BTW.

I have decided to remedy the situation by changing my own avatar to look more like your current picture, Christian. I do hope that's a bit less confusing for you.

Cordially,

Jillian

Hi everyone, it was may 5, 2006 when i received Christ and was 15 years old. I attended a Baptist church, and As a new saved member i had experienced being rejected by my churchmates and since i was an inferior type before i oftentimes became dïscouraged. But thanks be to God because He led me to attend a bible study about overcoming rejections and inferiorities. That was my turning point when God molded me emotionally, sociaĺly and above all spiritually. After a year i had given the privileged to teach on children's sunday school which i wholeheartedly accepted as my commitment to God until now. While since two years ago i became a member of our mission ministry reaching souls in some rural areas in our province. I've been enjoying these opportunities God has given me to serve Him which is so fulfilling and a real blessing to me and my family.

Well as a filipino my favorite food is chicken and pork adobo. While i have cat and dog as my pet.

thanks everyone, feel free to pm me. It's a pleasure to be friends with Christians in this site. God bless ya all.

Hahaha... I freaked out a little when I logged in, came to Singles forum and saw a thread under my avatar that I have no recollection of starting it and momentarily thought my account got hacked - and Jill, I am deeply touched by your thoughtful and prompt action to remedy the situation as I will no longer mistake you with someone else, i.e., jsr1221. Then again, I have little trouble identifying my own... oh never mind.

This is to bump this thread, and to respond to all the new people :).

Niceee, what's the nicest thing a fellow human ever did for you, and the nicest thing you've ever done to another, that you can remember?

jsr1221, I was a little bit sad to hear part of your story! I'm glad you're on our side of the cross and all, but I feel the need to give you a small present. Here it is, and perhaps one day it will materialize close enough to where you are that you can see it in its close-up glory!

Studymum, that's really cool that you met Jesus like that :)! I think it's good to consider yourself a beginner, partly because when people decide they know everything there is to know about the Lord, they go downhill VERY fast =P.

FaithismyVictory, I was happy to know that we share chicken adobo as a favorite dish (well, I have several favorites, but that's definitely one of them :))! More importantly, it's great to hear that we share excitement about the new souls being won in the rural areas. I hope you tell us some of the stories, if that's possible. It's great work :)! I'm glad you got over your rejection and inferiority issues as well. Knowing that Someone loved us enough to come and rescue us while we were yet sinners really helps me in that area. Good to know that someone else has discovered that as well ;].
