I took a week long sabbatical but couldn't resist the news forum today...argh!.... I have relapsed....maybe I shall bookmark this thread as a way to lessen the cravings lol ;) like nicorrette gum for politics...

Hi Molly. Yes, I did. I'm conflicted. Some parts look great but it seems they're marketing it as a Star Wars universe version of The Hunger Games. I just hope that's not a reflection of the final product. It should have its own identity.

I've never seen The Hunger Games...so I wouldn't know lol. I'm not even sure what they are about. :p

I'm just being cantankerous from trolling a couple of 20-somethings in that section talking about wild conspiracy theories and trying to sound smarter than they are.

It's about a future where the government uses kids as entertainment. Killing each other. Me, and most of my family, all turned it off before finishing it. The third one was better, though i was lost because i didn't see the second one.

Yea it's one of those distopia movies with a lot of savage killing and communist style control....they are kind of getting boring as a genre imo....too predictable...

I bought the Blu-Ray on Tuesday but have been so swamped with work and school that I haven't watched it yet.

GrumpyCrumpet, only watch it when you have plenty of time and you're not rushing it. You want to enjoy it. Personally, I really enjoyed the movie.
