Ok Purity
Its the word all those americans use to say thay are a virgin.
But can you still be inpure and be a virgin at te same time.
Im meaning like lets say i Hold hands with a girl, am i now impure,
or where does it start is it going out whe i was 16, was that impure of me as i was no way ready for marrage,
so is going out impure,
or kissing?
or if i can say this, Foreplay.
that is a big one people dont like to mention, and are allways scared of saying, but no Lets face the reality of this world because lots of christians, and like i want to know my wife if she is pure of not Before we get marryed, or even go out.
But i know christian GIRLS AND GUYS who clame to be pure but have done eveything classed as foreplay.
THEY ARE NOT PURE,
so persionally i dont like the word "pure"
ITS so missused nowdays.
so ya back on tract what is pure to you
and
what is impure to you?

Being impure starts in your mind... Then Comes through in your actions. I dont belive kissing or holding hands is impure unless your having lustfull thoughts at the time your doing those things.

i think personally all i would do is hold hands, cuddle and kiss the guy maybe. Thats what i consider ok before marriage and isnt impure, what if a friendly male relative kissed you on the cheek? would that count as impure? or when you were younger when you kissed your dad/mum goodnight?
I think impurity is anything sexual, such as foreplay and the actual act of it as well as touching each other etc...
Im a virgin and even BEFORE i was a christian i knew i wanted to wait till marriage.

I agree impurity, and purity start in the heart. This is a message to the girls... don't kiss. What? Is she crazy... legalistic....? For us it's easier to not lust, but guys have a harder time keeping their thoughts pure.Lets help the guys keep thier thoughts clean, continually seeking Christ. Guys... don't kiss... What? She's a girl what the heck is she saying? Girls tend to run with things. If you do not plan on being the keeper of her heart for the rest of your life, don't lead her on. Instead build her up in Christ, allow her to fall more and more in love with Christ, the Bridesgroom. If you do plan on being the keeper of her heart, don't kiss... make everything you do about God. On your wedding day, let that be the first kiss, before God, your family, and friends. Knowing that every intention leading up to that point was completely pure...

Brothers and sisters,

Im our own strength I doubt any of us are sexually pure. All it takes is one lustful thought and we are no longer "pure". However that stated, as Mahogonysnail said, if we are in christ we are purified by him. To take that a step forward, what I'm getting to, a lot of people who would call themselves Christians, and who are genuine Christians, have not been Christian their whole life. They have done even major impure things prior to becoming Christians. Just remember, god forgives our sins when we turn to Christ, and looking at it logically, are we superior to god, in that we are above having to forgive a potential partner's sins?

God Bless

Sister Bec,

It is good to feel conviction when you know you are sinning, even in the case of sinful thought. It's a good indication that you truly want to live by the word of the lord. Try to read the word of the lord, or pray to the lord, when you know you are slipping into sinful thought. The most detrimental thing in my oppinion is to just feel that "their just innocent thoughts, it doesnt matter". Its good that you recognise that it does in fact matter.

God Bless

I am also a still virgin, though since I began to really live for Christ, just recently I've been so hurt with impure thoughts an actions I've carried through :( It's such a struggle.

I totally agree i think we should try to remain pure in every area of our life wether it be kissing or simly even our diet! Its hard for us to maintain these things because of how society we should do this and that but allowing yourself to cave in is not give trust and hope in Jesus! If Jesus has gone through temptation just as we have i think we can try to be like him as much as we can the only difference is he never fell through with the temptation making him perfect. We are not perfect by anymeans! I love God with all of my heart i truly am in love with my Abba FAther! And if i want to remain clean from any lustful things headed my way i have to keep my eyes focused on him!! Doing so i think he will allow my mind and my actions to represent who I truly AM in HIM!!! :)

I look forward to that day that i can fully say to my husband ive even saved this kiss for you!! :) Not all people may agree with me but for me i want to be able to give my full heart all in one piece! :)

I believe that the more we keep our focus on God then the more u dont have those thoughts and temptations. I also agree with some of the ladies here saying it starts with where your heart is. Guys we have to watch what we see with our eyes because the longer u look the more that picture stays in your mind. Trust me I admit I have done that before and the enemy plays of that image in your mind. Im not going to say that the women dont go through the same thing so that is for u all as well. Another good idea for the singles is we should find a family to hang around! It helps u maintain those thoughts helping out a family with watching kid allowing the parents to go out and having a night for there selfs.U will be surprised on how much learn from hanging out with a family! Singleness is a gift! If u cant understand that then how can u understand being in a relationship. I think I am going off on a rabbit trail so Ill stop for now. Lol God Bless u all! U are all precious in Jesus eyes!

There is still hope. God still has a remnant.

So, I don't, by any means, think I can go on to marriage if I don't forgive my spouse for the things he has done in the past. He has been washed by the blood of Christ and has taken on a life of purity. The man God has for me is being cleansed and made whole in Christ, before he has met me. Just as I am, before I meet him; to insure that we don't complete each other, but rather compliment each other. With that being said, I don't need to worry about my future mates purity, I can only make sure that I wear the white dress, with my veil, and I am blameless and pure before my earthly, but especially my Heavenly husband!
