Thank you, and yes, most definitely not me. I will apologize if my avatar seems provocative though. I honestly had no idea that it might be seen that way. To me, it's a vivid and emotional portrait of someone so saturated by grace (rain) that they just sink down into it. It made me think of how I feel when God's grace pours down on me.

I'll wait a few days (so this message doesn't seem weird) and change it to something less controversial.

Maybe you can use that one you had originally! You know, the one with the two hands in the rain that were ......uh.....
... were slightly parted..... and they .... didn't have gloves on...

Grace, I don't think you're doing anything wrong. I'm pretty sure Ken's just having a laugh.
Thanks Tin, I was teasing too. Gloveless hands are not as scandalous as they used to be. :p

I would love to read this. I have been spending time in prayer every day. I get strong, then I lead myself slowly back into it. I am truly at the point where it is either one way or the other. I go to church, praise God, partake in communion, and then at night I willingly go back to the flesh desire inside me... I am truly at the fork in the road. I want with all my heart to be a changed man, but if I still give into this desire am I lying to myself when I say this?

If you have such a strong desire for a woman, why don't you go find one? Why do you have to wait ten years for her?
That is a great idea. I think most single guys wouldn't think of that :D

Seriously what I think he needs is a good friend (male) to share his thoughts and take him out for some fun stuff (sports, fishing, etc.). Oh and just boycott the pop culture, music videos and all that where girls dress and move like....you know.

May I once again advise my own therapy? Exercise... I fully understand the original poster. I always feel better after running and gym. Just too tired to think too much about some things. And not too many girls there either after 6pm :D

I appreciate this idea, however finding a woman is a whole different struggle. I am very introverted, and maybe even a covert narcissist (I'm studying that up right now). Not that I want to be in the least bit. I haven't had a girlfriend for 3 years. Since then I've been extremely "shy", and very self conscious (due to the way it ended, whole different story). This is why I say I don't plan on getting married for a while. If I have this much trouble finding a girlfriend, I don't even want to think how far marriage is down the road for me

About the gym, I have been suggested that, the problem is I am dedicated to my fitness as it is. I spend about 8 hours a week on average at the gym already (hence the comment about all the girls in spandex) so the last thing I need is more gym time.

If you have such a strong desire for a woman, why don't you go find one? Why do you have to wait ten years for her? I say if you're an adult already (which you are), and you are struggling with this, it's best to start looking asap.

But of course, like others have said, you need to focus on God first. Realize that you need his friendship and love first and then start looking. I don't agree that we should just sit around and wait for God to bring us the person we are supposed to be with to our laps. My aunt did that and now she's 42, single with no children, and never married. She is still waiting.
Your reasoning is sound - especially when you point out that sitting around is not going to lead most of the people out there to their future spouse.

However, I'd say that as far as looking, a man shouldn't be looking or even considering dating until he's dealt with any potential sexual sin issues.

Even if a man successfully dated a woman without causing her to stumble, if he's got sexual sin issues, he's going to be stumbling on his own, and that's going to cause a strain on the relationship. And stumbling is also is going to seriously hamper his ability to be a good biblical leader.

Who says, studying the human body is sin,? Not the Bible.! Paul says, "don't touch" but looking must be ok,! If God gives you the opportunity to study the naked body, do so. but don't marry anyone who would parade their naked body for other to see; UNLESS, the get converted and stop prostituting their body. "All things are lawful for me." but, "is it profitable", does it help me flee youthful lusts? With many, pictures can keep them from real sin.
Except according to the bible "pictures" are real sin. You can't pick one sin to perform and say you're doing a good thing because you aren't performing another one, that's not how it works.

Matthew 5:28
[SUP]27 [/SUP]“You have heard that it was said to those of old,[SUP][a][/SUP] ‘You shall not commit adultery.’[SUP][b][/SUP] [SUP]28 [/SUP]But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Servant, brother, are you married yet? :)
Less than three months until doomsday!

I just ordered the wedding ring last friday. Hallmark moment... I went to order my bride's wedding ring on the day my best man went to pick up his fiance's engagement ring. A few weeks prior to that, my fiance's brother (and another one of the groomsmen) announced he was engaged to one of the bridesmaids.

I've started a chain reaction.

Oh, and OP, I never thought I'd end up married. I had some of the same struggles you talk about and God freed me from them eventually (with a lot of work on my part). A lot of men have been there done that and had to learn the hard way.

You can shoot me a PM if you want. I'm working crazy hours but I'd like to help if I can.

Thanks for sharing this I honestly thought I was the only one struggling with this which is why I joined this chat room to see if I could get answers or help... But I'm a female and don't really lust for anyone but the feeling of sex ( I don't know if that makes sense) I know I have a problem and need help because I know it's a sin and everyone keeps saying dive into the word but the thing Is it's not that easy for me. I normally try to keep myself busy so I don't do it but I don't always succeed.. but by reading your post I feel a bit better knowing I'm not the only Christian that struggles with this so thank you for being honest about it ... Because of you I won't be afraid to ask for help and I won't be ashamed of it either...

There is a great beauty in holding out for true love.

Yea...sometimes it's loneliness, maddening lol and a divine yearning...because you pray for the RIGHT love...

But more beautiful to wait...
In the end when you find true love lol
