Sometimes I enjoy a good game. Now I am watching Sweden-Mexico. I kind of like Sweden because they are neighbors. But then Mexico is playing more fun soccer.

My ex-husband loathed soccer and handball. And it was not a thing to watch when I was married. He was more into ice hockey.

It is a lot of testosterone in soccer. Even more so in hockey. What do you prefer to watch? Would you like to watch that with a spouse? How would you react if your spouse was so in to the game, that it is impossible to get through?

Any experience or reflections? I think soccer is good to watch together with someone. But not if the room is filled with aggression, beer and loud voices...

My ex was a hockey fan and player. Strangely enough I have little interest in hockey now.

As for soccer, it's still the beautiful game.

I don’t like sports. Maybe figure skating or equestrian riding would be tolerable to watch. I would tolerate it if I had to, but I am not a fan and would prefer doing something else.

Football is king in the south. I hate it. Every year, there is a big game after Thanksgiving between the two big universities. On that day, I go shopping because the roads and stores are not very busy.

I would prefer to either go somewhere by myself or read a book or something while he watched sports.

I like to watch rugby with my Pops and the occasional boxing, cricket or netball.

I wouldn’t mind watching it with my spouse if I had one but I wouldn’t like for him to be so engrossed in it that I couldn’t get through to him - you gotta have some self control lol.

I’m not a sports person. I did watch the Super Bowl because apparently, our house is a eagles fan lol. I don’t care for soccer, but in years past, I would watch the World Cup with friends. I guess I’m watching it now because it’s there. Lol.

Husband watched a couple of games with me, and we watched it in Spanish lol! I try to watch stuff he’s interested in. That’s mainly music, music equipment, and cars. Lol.

I’m supposed to be rooting for Crimson Tide, you know...Roll Tide, Rooolll and all that (I hate autocorrect so much right now lol), but frankly, I’m really not interested 😂.

If I’m being honest in a contest between watching football (soccer) and
watching paint dry.....I would go for the paint.

Not a sports fan at all, so if I married someone big into sports it would be a problem. If it's just one sport it's easier to handle.
I don't enjoy watching them. Period. I actually get irritable after a while.
The only sport I watch, and am casual about it, is MMA.
But anyone wanting to spend time regularly watching sports would bug me to be with.

Not necessarily, you could be “War Eagle”. I go shopping during the Iron Bowl, the best time to shop for Christmas presents in Alabama.

I respect the rights of others to have their viewing preferences, no matter how mind-numbingly unwatchable I consider said preferences. I'm not sure you could have picked two sports I enjoy watching less.

I think the thread is about what men and women would watch together as a couple.

I watch Shirley Temple movies. I love them. I would never expect my husband to watch them with me. He might vomit at the saccharine sentimentality.

Likewise, he should not expect me to watch something idiotic like curling.

I swear, I think some of ya’ll enjoy poking the bear, and then get angry when the bear bites you.

I don’t mind certain sports like the Winter Olympics watching
them on the ski jumps, snow boarding jumps. Or even a bit of
motor racing. It’s probably the danger element, not to mention the
“How on earth did they do that”. which makes it interesting.

Whereas with football it’s sort of “Oh he kicked a ball and missed...again!”

I don't like watching sports i think they are boring but i did watch the super bowl with my church cuz my church was there lol so if my wife ( for some strange reason) liked sports and wanted me to watch them with her i totally would, anything with the right people can be fun. Also she'd have to watch anime with me cuz it's only fair so if she hates anime sucks for her like dude anime is 🔥🔥🔥.

As a Canadian, of course I like hockey. Neither my husband nor I are big in sports, although I came from a super sports family.

My boys played hockey up to pro level, one is a pro hockey coach. The other is going to coach his son’s Timbits Team in the fall. Grandson Tyler has been shooting pucks in net since he was as 2. Takes after his dad.

I tried to get my daughter to play hockey, but she didn’t like the sweaty smell of the equipment, or playing with the boys, She could skate better than all the boys. So we tried Ringette, which was a horrible made up game. She had been figure skating, so we lost the boy‘s skates, got some pretty white ones with toe picks! And she stayed in it to a high level, and paid her way through university coaching. I do like figure skating a lot!

My dad played pro football for 9 years, so I know a lot abouts football, but I don’t watch it. I like gymnastics in the summer Olympics. We just took up sailing, I wouldn’t mind watching a regetta or 2!

I pretty much loathe sports, but I think I’d like to watch horses race, because, horses. I’d like to go to the Kentucky Derby and wear a great, big hat and white gloves and sip something out of a silver cup (not a mint julep, since I don’t drink).

And as mentioned, equestrian riding and figure skating.

We saw the Lippizaner Stallions perform and it was quite nice, to see the beautiful animals “dance”, plus it was a connection to an old European tradition, so I felt posh being in the audience.

I wish I had a husband to watch the World Cup with.... Uruguay - Portugal. I already screamed my way thru France - Argentina today.
