I love using my crock pot! Because I am so out of steam by the time I need to start dinner. My most energetic time of day is mid morning- early afternoon, so starting something in the crock pot doesn't feel like a death sentence, haha. I have a crock pot recipe book, but I've been through all those and we didn't like most of them, so any new ideas are very welcome!

BTW- I have a 2 year old, and a 2 1/2 month old, so's I only have to worry about what one of them will eat, for now :)

I never even owned a crock pot until 6 months ago. All that time when I was married, working a 10 hour day & coming home at 6 or 7 pm then having to take the dog out, feed him, spend some time with him & all the while starving & having to try & cook something...why oh why did it never occur to me to buy a stinkin' crock pot?????????????????
Best invention ever. LOLNow I use mine at least a few times a month...fill that bad boy up with goodness & I have dinners for a few days. Om nom nom

The title of this thread reminds me of the tagline from the re-vamp of Battlestar Galactic...about the Cylons in the intro of the show. What? No one else has watched them???lol

Quick and easy:

1 box of macaroni and cheese and the necessary ingredients to make.
1 can of cream of mushroom soup.
1 can of tuna.

Make the macaroni and cheese like you normally would. Mix in the cream of mushroom soup and tuna. Done.

*You can also add crushed salted crackers or potato chips for additional texture and flavor.
*You can add either a can of peas or a can of peas and carrots if you want to sneak some vegetables in.
*You can also put the mixture in a casserole dish, cover in cheese or crushed crackers or potato chips and bake on 350 for about 15-20 minutes to make it into a casserole. Most people prefer this.

I can eat the entire thing for dinner so you might want to double or triple the recipe size for more people.
You desperately need a cook. Poor boy, you must be starving to death. Hmm, let me think. I could probably see if Itore would go up there. But then, he might make some weird concoction, cause you know, he's cool like that.

(I was trying to add this to my last post, but apparently I wasn't quick enough.)

Hey just go with the easiest dinner that people put out there. Markum mentioned an
appetizing meal for dinner that sounds real easy. lol Sorry Markum, I can't stand seafood
of any kind, but it does sound super easy.

It's called Tuna Casarrolle, and it's actually pretty good. Just use real cheese instead of the fake cheese, and you've got it made. That's been a staple in my family since I was a kid, although, I think my mom used Cream of Chicken instead of Cream of Mushroom.

My mother-in-law makes a tuna casserole that's pretty good (when i don't burn it or forget stuff...). It has cream of celery and black olives instead of peas or carrots. My husband isn't a fan of it though, so I'll try the cheesy one and see if we like it :)

Do, and Mark's right about it being super easy to make.

So it turns out that my husband will only actually be here for 9 dinners out of...um...16 that I have to plan for. Which makes my life so much easier.

Wow, that sounds like I'm glad he won't be here...really, I'm just relieved to get a break from cooking. Have I mentioned how much I hate cooking?

Cuz...I totally hate cooking.

Ok, done complaining about that. Right, so, I've picked out 11 meals from everyone's suggestions, and me and my son will just improvise for the other days, heh.

Feel free to add more to this if you feel like it, this is a twice-a-month ordeal for me haha...

I am adding,

Mince and tatties, toad in the hole, sausage and mash, roast pork chops and tatties and proper gravy (not that weird white sauce) yorkie puds and veg, stew and tatties, backed tatties with tuna an salad, thai green or red curry, quiche and chips and salad, anything my mum cooks, salt pork kale and tatties, coconut, brussel sprout and chestnut soup. I like food.
