You know recently, I revisited my High School days. I was all caught up in acceptance, forgetting He is my portion.

I got some feedback today, that though it was not real easy to swallow, it was spot on.

It is embarrassing because I am 53 years old. I am far too old to be this young.

These scriptures have helped me when facing opposition...

Teach me thy way, O Lord , and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies. Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.
Psalms 27:11‭-‬12 KJV

Unfortunately though, I was using them to fuel some unnecessary petty and negative responses, ignoring this…

Wait on the Lord : be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord .
Psalms 27:14 KJV

It is true what they say, our joy and our peace is on us; nobody is responsible for a wounded estate or for our choice to remain under His Pavillion of Strength. The negative drama we fuel is satan's tool.

We must remember, and I mean way down deep inside, that people, not even Christians, are obligated to make sure we are feeling loved or accepted. That is an inside job coming from Him, believing what He says, period.

Sheeeeesh, when He says come to Him as a child, I don't think He meant take our immature selves to Him, lol. I will say this though about that...He sure does what is needed to test our hearts, to show us the hard core truth of our weaknesses.

So yeah, be kind, love others, extend mercy and tenderness, but do so with a sincere heart, regardless the return. How do we know if it is sincere? We love them even when they don't like, respect, or love us back? We must get over ourselves to get under Him.

To God be all the Glory

When there is so many out there with real problems, hurting, grieving, starving, fighting for their lives, barely getting by, feels oh so silly and nonsensical to get caught up in things like this. Thank you Lord for taking my head out of my hiney.

Revisiting high school days...

I went to my 35 year reunion last month, sat and talked with some of my former classmates, talked myself out of watching the homecoming game, then went home.

At 53 years, I wonder if I have grown up? Am I doing what God expects of me?

May we all find Grace and favor in His sight. :)

Sounds like you had such a great time. Yes, I ask myself those same questions. May we all, indeed. Thanks Rod for sharing with me.

CharliRenee,
I am curious, how you were re-visiting high school? I suspect that there is a story here? Did you go to a homecoming, were you looking thru a yearbook, did you physically re-visit your school, were you talking to old friends? or what got you thinking about high school? Where did you grow up?
God Bless

1 Peter 5:7-14 New International Version (NIV)

7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 9 Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

10 And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. 11 To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen.

Hahaha, yeah, I guess that was kinda vague, huh? i graduated from Ruidoso High School. Ruidoso is so beautiful. I was a misfit of an odd ball, and by misfit I mean peppie long stocking unique, lol, and so it was not an easy time. It wasn't all bad, dont get me wrong but you know how girls especially care about acceptance and stuff as we are growing up. Well, I, embarrassingly, had some silly stuff happen in that caused me to regress. I take responsibility for my response, for my reaction. But I'm feeling a bit more solid, much less feeding the insecure drama in my head, lol. Thanks to my Lord, my priorities and my identity are back where they belong, resting in Him. Your asking me like you did, makes me smile. Thank you. But no real good or interesting story. How is that for the good, bad, and the ugly transparency?

No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead,

(Philippians 3:13 NLT)
