I have been confused how a christian should live on this earth and the purpose of his life

Does it mean :

1) To suffer and die for Christ ?
2) To have a relationship with him ?
3) To sacrifice all for Christ ?

If anyone could point me to the right passages it would be of great help thanks :)

Living as a Christian means that we are supposed to live every aspect of our lives as Christ did. However, we cannot do it perfectly because we all sin.

When your words are His words
When your ways are His ways
When your hands are the hands He can use
When your heart's desire is just to be
A heart He reaches through
That's when Jesus looks a lot like you

Old song lyric, I think it was Steven Curtis Chapman, but it holds true.

The Bible has a litmus test.
John13:35 - By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

The shortest way I can phrase it is to say something like, doing what you know to be right even when the world is going wrong because you trust 100% that God through Christ is making it right. But for specifics Matthew chapters 5-7 might be a good place to start.

When your words are His words
When your ways are His ways
When your hands are the hands He can use
When your heart's desire is just to be
A heart He reaches through
That's when Jesus looks a lot like you

I'm pretty sure it was 4 Him that sang that. When you type it I can hear the chorus in my head, but I can't remember the rest of it.

None of the above. (except for maybe some of # 2)
It's pretty much doing just what you are doing now, as long as you are keeping in mind whose you are, and that you want to make Him proud of his child.

Living the christian life is the best life ever. Like an eagle soaring high, so is the christian who is free and empowered by God. Although it is a constant battle against principalities and selfish desires, God is the strength to win those battles.

I think about this over and over again. I think in the end only God can judge our lives.

It's like asking who is more faithful and a good example of the christian life: The pastor who served God all his life; a missionary who serve God for few years and died, but opened the door for the gospel and many were saved; how about a cop, fire fighter or military believer who died or worked their whole life so another/others could live/be free to serve/love God and other people; or a mother/father/husband/wife who "lays down their life" for their family and helps them be a more godly spouse and child then they could have been otherwise. Who was more faithful ? It's like trying to compare the lives of Joseph (Jacobs son), the apostle Paul and Mary(Jesus mother) and asking who was more faithful. (Even if caring for Jesus was the only thing Mary did for God her whole life ...well nough said.)

Here is a question to go along with the topic - Who will receive a greater reward ? A believer who has served God all his life for like 40 yrs, or someone like the thief on the cross next to Jesus who was saved and died that same day ?

I always think of the parable of the laborers regarding this. And the biggest take away I get from it is God is very generous with His blessings and rewards toward us, and wants to be good to us. And though we will all fall short of our potential and suffer loss because of sin (even the apostle Paul), we will all be blessed way more then we deserve, just because He wants to and is generous. All we will be able to do praise and thank Him.

Amen ! Praise God !

Lets take a look How the Paul say about himself on this way, KJV .Philippians3;7-15, 7.But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. 8.Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord; for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, 9.And be found in Him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith; 10.That I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His suffering, being made conformable unto His death; 11.If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. 12.Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect; but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.13.Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended; but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,14.I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.15.Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded; and if any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.
