Have you ever seen something or someone who is trying to appear legit? And you know it's all some weird front for the mob or a cult who worships Kermit the Frog? Tell us your story! We gotta watch out for the bad guys... or at least get their address so Jullianna can arrest them. :D

I'll go first.

I was running some errands this morning and one of the places I needed to stop wasn't in the greatest part of town. In the middle of a cluster of bail bonds and pawn shops was a white door. In crooked bright red block lettering it said "Day Spa".

That was it.

The door was dirty and the concrete steps leading to the door were cracked. For a moment I just stared. The concept of some fancy day spa between two bail bond establishments, in a drug ridden part of town, struck me as deliciously odd and funny. I laughed and walked past it saying out loud, "Yeah, that's not shady at all."

one time at an aa meeting i just KNEW this woman was a witch.

not as good a story, but something inside was like ' this woman is a witch. '

she was one of the head organizers and she just had this very phony, cloying kind of false affection.. and seemed too interested in me.. as in there was a sort of spiritual feeling of control she was trying to place on me.
sounds crazy, but that's exactly how it felt- and i really, really, really just had this overwhelming feeling :
this woman is a witch !

One summer, I worked on a reservation. The ministry was located in the Badlands, and we'd have day camps outside.

There were NO trees on the ministry grounds so it was constantly sunny and so hot, and I thought, "Man, this isn't shady at ALL."

(I tried.)

One day I was sitting at my desk, managing my day spa.
My spa is located in a drug infested part of town, between two bail bond places.
Anybody can tell it's a day spa because it SAYS "Day Spa" in big red letters on the door.
Anyway, as I'm sitting there, I get a call from Rico, a local businessman that hangs out on the corner and... errr... sells things.

Rico says, "Hey, there's this weird girl who keeps walking past your place, and staring at your door.
Maybe Big Tony sent her around to collect money or something. Better watch your back."

Anyway, I was pretty nervous, but the girl finally left.
Geesh... she was one shady character.

I work in the city, there used to be a shady guy that rented out the store next door. I know he was a drug dealer. I could smell it, I could tell. He'd come in eyes all glazed over to buy orange crush. Guess what? He's in jail now for selling drugs. See I knew it!

So we live a block from an elementary school. And buses pass by ALL the time, plus we see buses a lot all over town. However... we have never seen a single bus that had more than maybe 4 kids in it. They are all almost completely empty, even at 3pm when they are leaving the school. I have NEVER seen a full bus since I have lived in this town.

Does that seem... weird... to anyone else?

It's true! I used to drink Orange Crush as a kid... then I graduated to Grape Crush by the time I was in the 7th grade. And then by the time I was a freshman in college I had moved onto coffee.

Actually, I'm drinking coffee right now. I got my supply from a guy named Rico.

It's at least financially irresponsible.

Sometimes I like to go to the drug-ridden part of CC. This one time, I was reading the thread titles in the Bible Discussion Forum. I was browsing through, looking for a place to join the peanut gallery, and I saw a title: "What does the bible really say about...?" I thought, "hah, that's not shady at all." Anyone who has been to Rico's place knows what thread titles like that mean.

*Puts down her Kermit The Frog puppet*

Uh... maybe I'd better not answer this thread...

*Picks up her Yoda The Jedi Master puppet instead*

Er... wait a minute... Nothing to see here. I repeat... Nothing. To. See. Here.

There's a little place I pass all the time called "The Playground " supposedly an event center... it never has any business during the day.. only night and the windows are blacked out.. they have the phone number posted real big on the out side of the building so my sister called just to see what the deal was... The number was a woman's personal cell number and she acted like she didn't know how to answer the questions she was asked.... shady ? I do believe so. Lol
