In October my Husband and I decided to get rid of Direct TV and go with antenna's, Netflix and Hulu to save money.
So far it's been great, none of us miss it, well my kids complain sometimes, but they don't pay the bill.

I have found some really good show's on Netflix that I binge watch. Unfortunately my Husband doesn't like them, I guess they're boring to him. I watched Orange is the new black and The Paradise, The Tudor's and the new BBC Sherlock show.

He does like Sherlock and he's been watching Lost again. I don't mind Lost, but I never really got into it the way he did.

What are some of your favorite Netflix shows?

I notice they brought the original Twilight Zone and Alfred Hitchcock series to netflix. Also the old Xena and Hercules series. Those are some old but good shows.

I never watched Xena or Hercules, but I like Twilight Zone and Hitchcock. When I was a kid I used to watch Hitchcock just to creep myself out.

hahaha... yeah. I've found both shows can get creepy at times. I just started watching both from he beginning. The Hitchcock episodes i've seen so far seem to play into fears we all have. Makes it a little uncomfortable to watch haha.

I love Disney movies Molly. I never watched Ugly Betty, I'll have to check it out sometime. I love BBC show's. I wish they had Downton Abbey and Mr. Segfried on Hulu and Netflix, love those shows.

Him talking used to creep me out, I guess he had a creepy way about him. His movies and show's are like a bad car accident, I want to turn away but I can't. I really like that movie The Bird's. It's so creepy but I love it. It's not like today's scary movies, all gore and not much substance.

Another good old creepy movie is The Bad Seed. The little girl in that movie is so good.

Sherlock and random documentaries. TedTalks has neat little snippets of info, and there are a couple of awesome astronomy + cosmology documentaries, one of which is called Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey. There's another one that Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock) narrates, but I forgot the name.

We killed DirectTV three years ago, went Netflix only, and haven't looked back. Saving so much money! Plus I find that we watch a LOT less TV, because it's not just mindlessly on, you know? You have to deliberately choose to watch something.

We watched all of the Cosby shows, The Office, Parks & Recreation, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Sherlock BBC, and some of us (not me) watched Lost, Switched at Birth, How I Met Your Mother, The Vampire Diaries, Doctor Who, and various other shows. We look for long-running series. We occasionally watch reality shows like Cake Boss or similar, if we are just wanting light watching while doing other things, and not to get tied up in a series. I loved Heroes and Firefly (both just a few seasons) if you are a scifi fan. Currently watching The 100.

These I'm not sure if they are on netflix or not..

Game of Thrones
Dexter
Weeds
Breaking bad
Downton Abbey

Note: these are not christian-friendly shows.. not for kids either. But they are GOOD!!!! :)

I am a political junkie, so I have re-watched The West Wing on Netflix and now watch House of Cards. They are polar opposites. West Wing will inspire you, and House of Cards will make you loathe every politician.

Every Star Trek show except the show that must not be named (Enterprise)
The Munsters
House of Cards (better off with the UK version)
IT Crowd
Battlestar Galactica
Breaking Bad

I think that's all I've seen on Netflix. Great site.

Haha yes, and I have a lot of catching up to do on it. I think I'm 2 or 3 seasons behind. Too many shows, too little time...

And one correction... Downton Abbey seems to be christian-friendly and probably ok for kids (but some of the drama might be too much for kids to handle). its actually a PBS show.

I couldn't find anything on Netflix or hulu worth watching. And it seemed that a lot of what they "offered" you couldn't really get anyway. Kinda like the amazon prime tv I'm trying out... sure there are things to watch for free if you don't mind 4th rate shows. But for the good stuff you have to still pay. Imagine that. Paying for a service for the privilege of paying even more for the service.

Sorry, not a fan.

It wouldn't be a stretch to say that the show communicates Christian values now and then.

Just a fair warning for a brother, the show slows down and gets more soap opera ish in season three, but picks up in season four and gets back on track in season five.

I almost abandoned the show, but I'm really glad I stuck it out.

With Netflix and Hulu you pay one.flat fee for everything.
