I'm not a teen myself, but i have used "omg" before many times and felt somewhat guilty about it afterwards since its assumed u are using the word "God" in omg even if "gosh" might really be the word that was intended. I know this might sound silly and petty, but as examples of Christ some of you might already refrain from using it alltogether as not to be misunderstood. But using the Lord's name in vain should not be taken lightly anyway. I was just curious what u guys thought of it?

For me, 'gosh' would be somewhat benign.

You are correct. I choose to say "Oh my goodness", though the acronym is still omg, and I don't like for it to get mixed up with the other one.

I am the same way.
Or I have somewhat done my own and just say "goodnight"

I don't even like to use gosh. Because it is replacing the word God, yet in this dictionary I used. Gosh has no meaning. Therefore it is just another word for God. And is basically the same as saying God.

Some would probably disagree with me. But that is where I stand :)

I just say Good Gravy! It's cheesy but it's a good substitute. Probably doesn't work well with vegans and vegetarians though. :p

When I see OMG it just irks me. Why not just say WOW?

Hmm I am not sure it will work out too well. :/

"Monkey brains!" would work well. As a substitute. As a food it would probably be gross.

Haha! Yes, I have. The monkey brains and the pulling out of the heart. Those are moments I'll never forget. It's my least favourite of the Indiana Jones movies (4 never happened), mainly because it seemed poorly-written, the lead woman was annoying and felt demonic at times. The others though, I love 'em!

I usually do "Omw" for "Oh my word." Or if I'm being suuper sarcastic and poking fun at something I'll say "Oh em gee." like, that's how I'll spell it out and everything, and I have gosh in mind, not God Himself. I don't even think about using the Lord's name in vain. I think it's a lot about intentions, and whether your thoughts are matching up with what's in your head.

For those who might still think that this is pushing the envelope, believe me when I say this - I'd rather burn my mouth on hot coffee than to say God's name in vain or to cuss.

i try to stay away from "omg" altogether. it bothers me.

i'm a fan of "zut alours!"

but i wouldn't say "sacrébleu" for the same reasons.
