Yes, it’s okay.

However, it is wise to establish boundaries before any form of intimacy ensues, because intimacy has the capacity to short-circuit your rational brain and leave you vulnerable to choices that you wouldn’t make when you are “sober”. :)

I recommend waiting till marriage.....a kiss can lead to other things. Focus on friendship....find out if you actually have ANYTHING in common.

Mike Gungor gives excellent advice....

Hello katherene, I'm not a teen but just wanted to add my advice in this doubt of yours. If you find it helpful and relatable to scripture use it, if not don't bother. I'm warning you that I'm very very bad in saying things shortly so if the reply gets out of hand kindly bear with it.

First of all I would need your age to go on further with my answer. If you think that's something Personal just mention whether you are above or below 17.

Ok then if you are a teen things I'm about to say will definitely make you hate me

First Bible has no records of Godly people dating before marriage not even an incident in which they behaved like couple before the bond of marriage. I won't say dating is prohibited in Christianity I don't know the answer to that but the thing is dating came into existence like a century ago after 1900s. So the problem with dating is people fall for the wrong partner most of the times in their urge to get into love and. what they fell for was physical attraction and lust.

So, how can one know the right partner?
The answer is wait till you know that, don't even think about having boyfriend or dating before getting a Job or atleast untill a point where you have seen a lot of relationship ship arround you and you know how it works. Don't date when studying it will totally ruin your future or you will ruin the other person's future I'm telling this based on my personal experience.

Hmmm, wait a minute this guy is taking the subject away from kissing to dating. Ya I know that and I did this in purpose to save a fellow soldier of Christ from falling. Teenage is very very vulnerable I know a handfull of people including myself wasting my teenage without prioritising Jesus in finding so called love of this world. And I know very few people who prioritised God in their teenage and blessed abundantly in future. Just pausing and holding back your desires of this age will give you a good life in future. Be prepared because your age and current world trends will make you look like a fool but always remember Jesus said you don't belong to this world if you follow him.

Now getting back to your actual question. I don't believe on dating in teenage so I'm gonna deal with kissing in general. Kissing or any physical activity falls under two category based on your intentions. Love and affection or lust, It's all about your intention if you kiss somebody and you feel lust you have to back it off and ask God what went wrong and fix it. To make it clear kissing one cheeks or forehead these commonly fall under greeting with love. Kissing on lips according to my understanding is wrong and it has lustful intentions in itself.

If I said anything wrong kindly correct me and always follow God and his word(Bible) before taking any decision. Don't follow something just because someone is doing it or someone said it because all men and women are sinners and we are saved only through the grace of God we all do mistakes. So always refer scripture and ask God in prayer before taking final decision.

I'm gonna end this with an example, a person I know was saved at the age of 14 she loved Jesus so much. She used to say when she go to sleep after pray she'll feel like some is pating her to sleep. Then came times she fell in love with a guy he ruined her peace he broke her relationship with Jesus and left her alone to suffer. But through his greatest mercy God accepted her once again and she said it was very very hard to reconcile with God I never realised I went this far from Christ. Elizabeth I don't know how your relationship is with Jesus but you can have a great life if you give yourself to him. Satan uses young age to rebel against God don't listen to him. Just kneel before our King of kings and Lord or lords so that you can get eternity.
How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping watch [on himself] according to Your word [conforming his life to Your precepts].

Praise our Lord Jesus, what you said is the mark of a child of God. Having Jesus as your first love that sounds very great. I lost many things before understanding this simple truth but still through Christ now I'm saved and I'm content with my life. Like someone said "When you have everything you'll still miss something but when you have Jesus you have everything". Just stand firm in this faith miss, give more time to prayer and reading Bible. Listen to his voice before making life decisions. I'm very very happy to know that there is a teen living for Christ in this age it's rare now. Protect your holiness with the grace and strength from the Almighty. God bless you katherene

It is good for a man not to touch a woman. Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. 1 Corinthians 7:1-2

I kind of take these verses to mean that if your single, you shouldn't be physical with a person of the opposite sex (someone who is close in age to you, I mean). If that's really hard for you, then you should get married. However, it's still important to save that side of things for marriage. The dating/courting period is meant to be spent getting to know the other person and finding if you are compatible spiritually, if you share the same goals, values, etc,... It's not about finding out if there is enough chemistry between the two of you.
My sister just recently got married. When she first met her husband, she was not interested in him at all (no xtreme chemistry:eek:), and just kind of thought of him as a friend. However, he liked her, talked to my dad, and they started dating. By the time they got married, trust me, there was enough chemistry between them to light up the sky. Kinda cheesy if you ask me:p. But they waited until their wedding for their first kiss, and they don't regret it!
BTW, most of the time people regret that they DIDN'T wait, rather than regretting that they did.

I guess it's not a sin, but I don't see any reason to waste physical affection on someone you are not married to. Kinda like how kissing a frog isn't a sin either, it's just kinda pointless and meaningless.

I got quite a lol reading this...definitely one way to put it.

I don't see any "good" reasons to not just wait until you are married. It seems like a pretty intimate expression that makes sense to be between a husband/wife...

When one is engaged seems like an acceptable time also but sometimes things go wrong for people and engagements fall through...

Hugs and holding hands though I think is fine...those are pretty sweet expressions and I doubt anyone would argue that those are inappropriate. Patience is a fruit of the Spirit.

Do so only in public. If at his home, keep his room door open.
