Replying to Godisdaman:
1 - Mormon's definately believe in Jesus Christ, as recorded in the New Testament. We don't believe in the man made creeds that came AFTER the new testament, such as the "trinity", which term is never used in the Bible. I suggest you read this, which makes it very clear that we believe in Jesus Christ from the New testament.

2 - So wait, who is your Jesus?
3 - As far as works goes, I refer to James 2:17-26. We believe the Grace of Jesus Christ is REQUIRED for salvation, no amount of works we can do can qualify us for that, since we all sin. We also believe the teachings of the new testament in relation to works, and that we will recieve greater rewards depending on our works. Matthew 16:27, Revelation 22:12, etc.
You mention that a lady at your church who used to be mormon said most of us don't even know how to get to heaven, which is a complete lie. I've talked to MANY people of most religions that reside in the United States, and I don't know any church that has more informed members. There are some that I've seen thats members tend to know alot, but I haven't seen any match up to the "mormon" church. We believe those that follow the Gospel of Jesus Christ will get to heaven, which includes faith, repentance, baptism, receiving the Holy Ghost, and Enduring to the End(not once saved always saved).
For those that don't believe in works, I simply ask, why would Christ teach SO MUCH about being a good person if it didn't matter?
