I have not heard the term cozy mystery before 
I can suggest some humor mystery, though
M.J. Trow took the fictional character of Inspector Lestrade, who appeared in several of the
Sherlock Holmes stories written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and built a whole series around him.
They really are quite humorous, in part due to being rife with modern cultural references.
There are quite a few books in the series; it may be best to read them in order
