Hello!
I recently have decided to turn to God. but as with new things i have questions. any answers would be appreciated.
1- I was raised mormon, mormons believed we all lived in heaven with jesus before we were mortally born.
Do christians believe the same?
2- I have heard smidgens about the Rapture of the Church. please describe in detail.
How is one determined by God good enough to be taken away from the chaos that will be earth?
If we miss the mark the first time will there be another chance?
Will i see my loved ones who are not saved ever again?
what exactly the Rapture is?
3-I need help determining the difference and the line between those who have commited (for lack of a better term) hell-worthy behavior.
what are the ways to be ****ed? what behaviors will send you down this horrid path.
my moms gay....is she ****ed?

4- how dou know you have received an answer to your prayer?
please and thank you

You'll have to wait for the others for the long,detailed answers but I'll give it a try:

3:
The only way to go to hell is not accepting Jesus Christ as your saviour. Living "good" does not save those who don't believe, nor does it take us to hell, because of the blood of Christ that washed us clean.

The bible doesn't say that we were "physically" in heaven before we were born on earth, but it does say that he has KNOWN US before we were born''

as for the rapture, if you read the threads on the subject, you'll see we don't all quite agree on the details of that matter

1: I agree with wwjd_kilden there is no reference to any pre-birth time spent in heaven, but it does say in Psalms 139:

13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb. 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
16 your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me
were written in your book
before one of them came to be.

Verse 13 definitely suggests that we came into being in our mother's womb, not before.

In regards to going to heaven or hell here are some verses that might help explain what it takes:

John 3:16-18
16"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.

Ephesians 2:8-10
8For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9not by works, so that no one can boast. 10For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Romans 3:10-26
10As it is written:
"There is no one righteous, not even one;
11there is no one who understands,
no one who seeks God.
12All have turned away,
they have together become worthless;
there is no one who does good,
not even one."
13"Their throats are open graves;
their tongues practice deceit."
"The poison of vipers is on their lips."
14"Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness."
15"Their feet are swift to shed blood;
16ruin and misery mark their ways,
17and the way of peace they do not know."
18"There is no fear of God before their eyes." 19Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God. 20Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin.
Righteousness Through Faith

21But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, 23for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished— 26he did it to demonstrate his justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.

Types of people dealt by God

There are five types of people in this world dealt by God. The first type people have real love towards God and sacrifice practically to God. The Lord rewards them with infinite and real fruit. The second type of people sacrifice practically but want to achieve ten times more. Such people are businessmen. They invest little and aspire for more profit. The Lord returns back whatever such people sacrificed. The Lord also gives the extra expected by them but that extra is from their account only.

The good result of a good deed to be enjoyed in the future birth is drawn back with reduced value and is given as the extra, which was aspired by the people. All this process takes place without the knowledge of the people. The third type of the people sacrifice words by prayers and feelings throw devotion without any practical sacrifice. Such people are in the path of a prostitute who also sacrifices sweet words and sweet feelings to extract something practically from a person. The Lord fulfills their aspiration by drawing the good result of their good deal from their future birth. The fourth type of people are atheists.

They enjoying the world created by the Lord and abuse the Lord. The Lord will keep silent towards them in this world. The Lord uses the atheists to test His devotees. He will observe whether such atheists can affect His devotee. Later on the atheist will be severely punished by the Lord. The fifth type of people neither recognizes nor abuses the Lord. They simply enjoy the world without bothering about the Lord. The Lord will throw such people into the births of animals, birds, worms etc. In such births one can enjoy the world without worrying about the Lord.

The only way to heaven is through Jesus christ, Gods only begotten son(meaning literaly from him) who came to the world to spread the word about God , teach Jehovahs (God) Word, spread the news about God & teach wisdom then after that he had to die on the cross for our sins to be forgiven, he suffored A LOT of pain for all the sins we commited :( he died so we can have eternal life with God & so we can be forgiven for our sins without having to sacrafise a sheep or ox but instead by praying to God & asking forgiveness.

As for what your past religion used to believe...
It does NOT say in clear letters that we came from heaven BUT i do know that the devil WAS a beatiful angel who was REALLY jealous of God So he was banished from Heaven meaning sent to earth/whereever he is & to never be able to enter heaven again.
Right now no one that i know of (Beside God himself) knows for a fact if we came from heaven BUT for sure we came from God because he made us his way, & he did already knew how we were going to look before we were even born =) since its said in the bible.

As for rapture well some people say it happens differenet ways But for sure that is when God Jesus Christ will come to earth & take with him all his faithfull followers, who believed in him. No one will see when they are taken with him & at first no one will know were they went till later on OR some will know the truth BUT others who dint believe in God will come up with some stupid excuse. But in reality it will be God taking his people to heaven then the countdown for the end of the world will begin, meaning when the antichrist will walk the earth & then the whole big war between God & the devil happens & then this world ends & the new world begins were the ones who dint get the beast mark & dint follow the devil, the ones who choose death over following the devil . The anthi christ is the one who lies to jews to get their trust then will turn against them a long with others who still believe in God but dint have enough faith or sinned to much without really carring to say sorry, for example those who dint care to walk in Gods ways & only taught that believing was enough, or ones who knew about God but cared more about money & things that arnt that important ...to hurt them & torture them .
He is the devils Helper, the one who hates God more than anyone else.

well said NotearsShed :)

as for the rapture, it is where Jesus comes back and takes away the church (all believers in christ) away from earth. we will all be gone in a instant. But there is Alot of debate to when it will happen, Pre trib, Post trib, mid trib. but i believe in the pre tribulation views of the rapture. There are some examples of pre wrath god uses in the old testament, like noah and abrahams family in sodom and gomorrah.

hello Karie..

number 1.. christians do not believe we lived in heaven prior to birth... however do believe that, of corse, we were devinally made in heaven by God prior to our mortal bith..

number 2.. the rapture is when we are taken (body as well as soul) into heaven very close to the end of time on earth.. there is a debate as to when this will happen but thats what it is.. and if you accept Jesus as your Lord and as the sacrifice that makes you clean again in the eyes of God.. you will be raptured. that is how it is decided who will and wont be raptured.

For the rapture.... if we have not accepted Jesus as our Lord and savior by the time of the rapture.. we will not get a second chance.. however "missing the mark" is what it means to Sin.. thats what the word Sin means.. "to miss the mark" so as christians... we wil sin over and over, but Jesus's sacrifice covers us as long as we strive to live like him more and more each day.

after Death, if you are saved and your loved ones arent saved (i.e. havent accepted Jesus as Lord) then they simply cannot be in heaven with God so you will not see them.. which is all the more reason to teach them of the Love and Grace that Jesus offers.. and since heaven is perfect (even though it can be hard to imagine) i dont think we will mind not seeing our earthy relatives and friends as our main focus will be communion and worship with God

this is IMPORTANT...

any sin AT ALL...... ANY ONE SIN is "hell worthy" but as christians we aren't subjected to that because.... (and a lil backstory)

"the wages of sin is death" meaning you sin, you get death, something must die.. since the very begining of the bible thats how it was.. And close to the begining, God had his people make sacrifices of animals in order to pay for their sin.. to make the payment their sin demanded in order to be free of sin, in order to be made "not hell worthy" anyone who didnt sacrifice (because we all sin) wasnt made clean again.. so they remained "hell worthy."

and then a while later, finally, according to God's plan, God sent his son Jesus to be the LAST sacrifise for sin. meaning this ONE sacrife.. jesus.. would have the power to clean ALL sin, past, present and future.. but in order to be made clean and go from a hell worthy sinful state, to a not hell worthy sinless state, you must ACCEPT Jesus's sacrice for you.. you must sincerely say in your heart, Lord Jesus, i know you died for me and i want be holy and live according to your will for me. and BAM! you are clean from sin, past, present and future sin is all clean...

that is the difference between hell worthy and non hell worthy. its not the behavior, but the faith and dedication to your cleaning sacrifice and Lord Jesus.. christians sin too so we technically commit "hell worthy behavior" but we are free of the consequences because we have Accepted Jesus's sacrifce. and thats it... black and white.. sincerely accept jesus and strive to be holy and you can be free of the consequences of your sin, if you dont, then you are not made clean and you are held accountable for your hell worthy behavior..

FINALLY... NUMBER 4

God is not cut off from man and answers all prayer.. God does not always answer Yes, and God does not always answer on your time schedule, or even asnwer in the way we thought he would... but he does answer prayer..

so how do we know when we have recieved an answer... the simpliest answer i can give (because each individual prayer is given a differenc answer in accordance with Gods plan) is we might not know.. it is very subjective. sometimes we are given an answer and we dont even realize it, but if we truly seek and answer, and are open to God, we can know. AND it is also IMPORTANT that prayer not just be a wishlist to God, prayer is our way of communicating with God, developing our relationship so sometimes prayer doesnt even require a responce because you just may want to talk to God, spend alone time when you think about nothing but the Greatness ans Glory of God.

i hope that helped, and i think you ARE AWESOME karie!

Hey Karie

I don't have much time to write what I'd like to -- but I just wanted to let you know that if you ever need someone to talk to (i saw you were 19 as well) I'm always availible. Please don't hesitate to message me or anything, anything. :) Sometimes it helps talking 1on1, and with someone your own age. I've been a Christian since I was little, so maybe I can help out a bit.

Either way, I'm praying for you :)
