So, am 20 years old and I have been addicted to sexual immorality since 8
am tired of it
but after praying and crying and all
i still go back to it
even when that Voice tells me don't do it... i still do
sometimes I overcome it... and i know that I can overcome it
Its like, its a hardened heart.

The thing is, you can't overcome it, this is only possible by the grace of God.

Your heart is certainly not hardened, otherwise you would not give this a second thought.

I would have to say based on experience and observation that most people have or are going through the same thing at one time or another, including myself at one time. Perhaps, rather than the Voice telling you not to do it, the Enemy is telling you to go ahead.

My counsel is to give this over to God who fully understands the human condition and why we do the things we do. Even Paul said that he does the things that he should not do and not do the things he should. Three times he prayed for God to remove the thorn in the flesh. After the third time God told him that His grace was sufficient.

Glad to have you onboard with us. Welcome to CC.

Tourist offered the best advice. Your status says spiritual unsure. What do you mean by that? That could possibly be where the problem lies.

I hope this encourages you somehow.

We have to live with your flesh, but you have to master it. It won't always be easy, but don't stop trying.

When you feel weak you can call upon Jesus the Nazarene. Have faith in Jesus' sacrifice to cleanse you of all unrighteousness, cleanse you of every transgression, and wash away every sin.

God loves you and Jesus is the perfect sacrifice. Have faith in His sacrifice.

This lesson spoke to me, personally, today. I hope it blesses you also.

When Jacob deceived Isaac pretending to be Esau, he obtained to the blessing, by his own 'ability' but the results didn't work out so well as it cost him relationship with his father, had to run from his brother and never saw his mother again. Indeed, it was not until God asked him, 'what is your name?' that Jacob owned up to himself and answered, "Jacob (swindler; manipulator)". Even so , this time as himself (whom by no means has any 'right' to the blessing (nor even a good name perhaps) wrestled with God and held on until he received, along with the blessing and a new name, a limp that'd always be a reminder that he can lean upon God.

Dear AmaUwana,

There is a saying, "If you want to putting something OFF, you need to put something ON. The first thing you put on is prayer--the lords prayers says "Lead us not into temptation". Then you need to confess to God and to another person--"Confess your sins one to another and you will be healed." You are going to have to find something to do instead, when tempted. And you need a PLAN ahead of time.

Immediately, when the thoughts come you will think they are controlling you--THEY ARE NOT. "Hold EVERY THOUGHT CAPTIVE to the obedience of Christ." You will be amazed when you put on the ARMOR of God-- and say "NO!" and make up your mind to TURN AWAY--cry out to God "Save me!" Surrender to Him and let Him take control.

Practical wise you must put a pornography filter on your phone and computer. "Make NO provision for the flesh."

Your will need to re-wire your brain--12 years and your brain is hard wired to go the path of least resistance--think of water continuously running along a rut in the road--only diversion will change it's direction. It has become your go to when stressed, lonely or simply bored.

There is a 12 step program for Sex addicts: https://saa-recovery.org/

The original 12 steps have roots in the Christian faith. You may have to try a variety of meetings to find one you feel comfortable with--the main thing that makes a meeting good is they are focused on the 12 steps and the SOLUTION--not the problem.

There are a number of 12 step programs if you need help with anything else: https://sobernation.com/list-of-12-step-programs

I will pray for you after I type this message.

Struggling with Sin

13Did that which is good, then, become death to me? Certainly not! But in order that sin might be exposed as sin, it produced death in me through what was good, so that through the commandment sin might become utterly sinful.

14We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin. 15I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do, I do not do. But what I hate, I do. 16And if I do what I do not want to do, I admit that the law is good. 17In that case, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.

18I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my flesh; for I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. 19For I do not do the good I want to do. Instead, I keep on doing the evil I do not want to do. 20And if I do what I do not want, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.

21So this is the principle I have discovered: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. 22For in my inner being I delight in God’s law. 23But I see another law at work in my body, warring against the law of my mind and holding me captive to the law of sin that dwells within me.b

24What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? 25Thanks be to God, through Jesus Christ our Lord!

So then, with my mind I serve the law of God, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin.

2 Timothy 2:22

New King James Version

22 Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

Pray to God to destroy those sinful thoughts and focus on God's things.

After God gave me the Holy Spirit, I found proof that TV, movies, novels, music, video games and computer games are all sins, except Christian stuff. Read 10 commandments.

Having suffered immensely from this myself, I totally relate to your fight. For me, I DECIDED I needed to change. I prayed, and began the journey. Change may not occur in an instant, it may take time. It did with me. I fell...a lot, but with each fall, I learned something, and used it to gain some victories. Over time, victories came more and more.
