I think Gordy Rose gives the probabilities on when it will happen in the video. Most people involved in the development of the technologies say around 2030.
But one thing to consider which I'm not sure that they factored this in, is the advancement in AI that's in use today. A lot of the advancements in technology that we see right now are due to AI.

the shorter version is what you get if you hit the "share" button on youtube; you want the full url address a browser lists as its location.
Ever since I was a kid I heard that the aliens aren't making themselves known here because they are afraid that if we stumble upon their advanced technology we would end up using it to destroy ourselves...
