This is why we have guards at the border.

We don't just let people wander into our country with high glycemic breakfast food.

: )

Contrary to popular belief, we are actually not in cahoots with Belgium to create a "supersize" nation of American fatties.

You guys can do that just fine all by yourselves. Just keep shoveling in the fast food.

At least waffles and maple syrup taste good. And besides, you've forgotten that pancakes are Canada's only national food.

So GO CANADIAN!! Eat PANCAKES with our maple syrup!

This statement sounded oddly defensive to me.

Deny it all you want.

I think we know what the Belgians and Canadians are REALLY doing.

In the early 1970's, Pierre Trudeau (our then communistic and liberal Prime Minister who also gave our law making system to the Supreme Court and gave us a constitution that is a bunch of lawyerese!) started a program to indoctrinate the west with French. We were given extra money for the purpose of teaching French. I was given a scholarship to a summer immersion program in a famous national park. The profs all came from France. All the teaching in school had been French from France.

At the end of the summer, I met a man from Quebec and could not understand him. In fact, I still find the Quebec patois very difficult to understand, but I can talk to a man from Lyon with no problem. As for Moncton - even the man from Lyon could not understand their dialect, and they could not understand him.

This is a true story!! No one understands Quebecois except the people from Quebec. And no one understands New Brunswick dialect anywhere! I listened to the dialect while watching a university hockey game. Just impossible to understand.

Oh, I should mention - Belgium French - very easy to understand. If you get my drift!
