What's important to me is the health and safety of others as well as the state of the nation. With all of the Idolatry, Sorcery (Pharm=aecia in Greek) (Drug abuse in English) pervasive sexual immorality. child sacrifice (abortion) and other abominations that our, (as well as others) nation(s) have allowed and embraced. God may be cleaning the camp. As in:
When the Israelites, led by Joshua attacked and destroyed Jericho. They were told not to take anything, at all. Achan disobeyed and took some plunder. He successfully hid it from everybody and thought he got away with it. God was angry.

When the Israelites proceeded to the next settlement named Ai, they were supposed to destroy it. Joshua discovered that it was small and appeared to be a pushover. So he mustered a reduced number of troops to attack and pillage the village. The Israelite forces were badly beaten, Joshua tore his clothes Joshua tore his clothes in sorrow and threw himself, face down in front of The Ark of the Covenant and questioned God, and God said: Joshua 7:11 Israel has sinned; they have violated my covenant, which I commanded them to keep. They have taken some of the devoted things; they have stolen, they have lied, they have put them with their own possessions. 12That is why the Israelites cannot stand against their enemies; they turn their backs and run because they have been made liable to destruction. I will not be with you anymore unless you destroy whatever among you is devoted to destruction. niv

23 They took the things from the tent, brought them to Joshua and all the Israelites and spread them out before the Lord.

24 Then Joshua, together with all Israel, took Achan son of Zerah, the silver, the robe, the gold bar, his sons and daughters, his cattle, donkeys and sheep, his tent and all that he had, to the Valley of Achor. 25 Joshua said, “Why have you brought this trouble on us? The Lord will bring trouble on you today.” Then all Israel stoned him, and after they had stoned the rest, they burned them. 26 Over Achan they heaped up a large pile of rocks, which remains to this day. Then the Lord turned from his fierce anger. Therefore that place has been called the Valley of Achor[f] ever since.

Levitical law says:
Deuteronomy 23:13-14 13As part of your equipment have something to dig with, and when you relieve yourself, dig a hole and cover up your excrement. 14For the LORD your God moves about in your camp to protect you and to deliver your enemies to you. Your camp must be holy, so that he will not see among you anything indecent and turn away from you. NIV

Deuteronomy 23:14-16Contemporary English Version (CEV) 14 You must keep your camp clean of filthy and disgusting things. The Lord is always present in your camp, ready to rescue you and give you victory over your enemies. But if he sees something disgusting in your camp, he may turn around and leave.

Is Covid a judgment from God?

when a person or a country disobeys/defiles God's Holy Order/Commandments, (HELLO)!!!,
the consequences are so OBVIOUS, just read your Bibles concerning the 'judgment' of Israel'
when they were 'abounding in sin and corruption' -
God gives them over to their enemies, 'every time', and if any of you are watching the news,
China and Russia are hoovering, and not only this, they are a 'fifth column' in our country -
this means, that a group of their people are actively working towards 'destroying our political system,
from 'within'...

our 'country' has given itself over to 'sin/iniquity', and so we have to come to
realize that it's become an 'individual responsibility' to zealously stand-up for Jesus' ways,
as opposed to satan's ways of devilish-darkness...

It is a warning. The plague kills Christians and sinners alike. Nevertheless it is a warning. We could all be wiped out in a moment. Our lives are fragile and we are exeeding proud and rage against a holy God.

2 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?

2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying,

3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.

The principle is true in general. The nations rage against the constraints of a holy God and demand that sodomites be honored and esteemed. This hideous sin and many others will provoke an answer in this life. Remember Lots Wife is more than just a warning against backsliding, it is a reminder of how God can judge before the final judgment promised at the end of the world.

God has not changed. Such heinous sins and raging rebellion in the face of a Holy God will result in national destruction.
Not that individuals who die of COVID are personally guilty of sin more than any other, but if people don't repent they will all likewise perish but it could be something much worse around the corner.

I believe that if people in general do not call upon God and repent of their sins and receive the offer of eternal life there will be increase of judgments in severity even before that great distress upon all nations (the Great Tribulation) that will dispossess the earth of it's unlawful inhabitants.

We know that there will be widespread death and destruction in the Day of the Lord. It is probable that a shaking and a series of warnings that are not as severe might be released to assist in an end time harvest. Historically few people repent without a crisis.

The accelerating of sodomites in the land will be answered by a Holy God with swift judgment no matter what the courts decide. Holy men and women of God will preach it even if they are jailed for it. There will be a few that will stand alone with Isaiah, Ezekiel, and Jeremiah and warn people of eternal damnation for the sin of sodomy even if they are jailed for it.

@EleventhHour I left you a heart to thank you for sharing however I'm more in line with thinking like scribe @Scribe Some folks think that the USA Is a christian nation. I think we are a nation with christians in it. As time goes by more abominations become legalized, then sanctioned, then protected and defended. Would a christian nation allow such things to happen?.

The national moral compass is pointing in the wrong direction my friends. It's starting to spin out of control. I agree with scribe. When reading the OT, we see that Israel did the same things time after time. Worship of Ball (a demon) and his consort Asherah (the false goddess of sex and fertility), sacrificed children. Everybody knows what happened to Sodom. Are we so special that the Lord will turn his cheek?

Time after time after Israel repented of it's sin's and God withdrew his judgment. He does say these kinds of things will come to pass. I believe a national repentance is in order. Not just a day either. Some liberals will scream "We have freedom of Religion, and freedom of choice!" We should as Christians should stand up and say, "Get thee behind me, you Satanic, baby killing, faggots!" We are on God's side!" Repentance is about change and turning away from sin, not expecting a free pass. Faith without works is dead. Works requires action. Some people here think I'm a crackpot and religious fanatic. Well I may be a fool to confound the wise. I have no shame about loving God. Can anybody love God too much?

Please pardon my rant, but wake up!

Well probably not in those words, but in attitude. Go back to diagnosing homosexuality. Make abortions for convince a first degree murder charge. close up all astrology, tarot card, spiritualist shops and ban Satanism. That would be a good way to start.be a good way to start.

Having idolic paraphernalia, worshiping other people who speak against god. Abortion and other abominations that make our nation filthy is what I'm talking about. In the other scriptures that I quoted, if a nation becomes to filthy and turn away from God he will turn away from us and leave us for perdition. It's not the letter of the law rather the consequences for allowing things to get that way. Mere possession of an Idol was grounds for death by stoning. What I was getting at is. If we are a christian nation we must Love God more than money, human leadership, our convenience... I put 3 not 1 scriptures regarding getting and keeping our camps clean and the consequences for not.

My answer to question 2 is: Becomes the nation loves it's currently constitutional freedoms more than God. people don't understand this scripture:

And this is the truth also:

In fact, I don't think for a moment that Achan was executed for stealing at all, Taking plunder from a defeated enemy stronghold is not against the word of God. The Jews did it many times. In this case however they were ordered ot to. It was because:
New American Standard Bible
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world. (1 john 2:16 NASB) That got achan killed. And remember, that verse came from the Apostle John in the NEW TESTAMENT. So nobody can say it's not valid!

Psalm 24: “The earth is the Lord’s and its fullness; the world and those who dwell in it.” We are the caretakers of God's planet. Just like in the garden. Were not here to pillage but to nurture. We may partake of it, just like the Levites could of the meat, grain, oil, and wine offerings. As long as we respect who they truly belong to. The forests, air and water are not ours but God's. That seems simple to me.

Huh? I thought it was because they stole it. It says right in the scripture THEY STOLE, they lied.
They were not ordered to by God, They were told to totally destroy everything, and not to take anything.

You seem to have changed your tune.
So again, what have the US stolen that wasnt theirs?

The fact that they cannot even admit that they stole anything was against them.

They couldnt justify it by saying oh we can plunder the enemy if we want to. we did it before. why would you even want to. If you really dont like your enemy, why then covet anything of theirs?

when the israelites got out of egypt they took a lot of gold, and then they fashioned an calf idol from the gold they stole.

Is Covid a judgment from God?
COVID is a bio-weapon from China. And it has worked beautifully from the Chinese perspective. But it is not necessarily a judgment from God. And it certainly has no connection to Achan and what he did.

I admit that I made an error. Stealing however was only one of the offences that was comitted. I doubled checked, Here it is; Joshua 7:11 "Israel has sinned; they (plural) have violated my covenant, which I commanded them to keep. 7, They have taken some of the devoted things; they have stolen, they have lied, they have put them with their own possessions. 12 That is why the Israelites cannot stand against their enemies; they turn their backs and run because they have been made liable to destruction. I will not be with you anymore unless you destroy whatever among you is devoted to destruction.

13 “Go, consecrate the people. Tell them, ‘Consecrate yourselves in preparation for tomorrow; for this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: There are devoted things among you, Israel. You cannot stand against your enemies until you remove them. NIV

It wasn't just stealing. Unholy and forbidden things were hidden in the camp. Not just Achan was punished. The Israelite troops were defeated because of his sin. The entire camp had to get consecrated.

Webster's 1828 Dictionary

CONSECRATED, participle passive Made sacred by ceremonies or solemn rites; separated from a common to a sacred use; devoted or dedicated to the service and worship of God; made venerable.

Thank's for the reminder. I seldom listen to music. When I do I pay more attention to the lyrics than the melody. That's why I like Guthrie & Dylan
