I wanted to point out to everyone, that stopping the earth from simply "spinning on it's axis" will not achieve the effect of the Sun and Moon stopping on the Globe Earth model.

God would have to cease movement of everything in the entire universe, while operation in and around the Earth's surface is allowed to continue. All time and space would need to cease flowing, except the time and space on the surface of earth.

I Wasn't questioning the power of God, I was questioning your poor understanding of the heliocentric model, because when you say this:

Takes almost 17 hours non-stop from Dallas to Sydney and about 14.5 hours coming back....

Arrrg Correction to my last statement, the sun does rotate, the Sun is the center of our solar system and our whole solar system rotates around our galaxy thus yes indeed our sun rotates but this didn't have any affect on one day because our solar system takes 240 million years to make one complete rotation around our galaxy.

we have the seasons because of the 365 day or so, "orbit of the earth around the sun", and during this 365 day period the path of the sun in our sky appears to change and is why the day/night balance and temperatures fluctuate.

Even if you stop the earth from rotating, this "orbit" would still cause the sun to appear to move in the sky because of the varied path this phenomenon causes the sun to appear to take over the course of a year.

So, stopping the earth from "rotating" alone, will not stop the sun from moving in the sky. OK?

The lie goes deeper however, as they now say that the earth is not "technically" orbiting the sun

The Bible doesn't talk about this, flat earth model has an explanation, and whatever other Bible Friendly models have an explanation too. Of course the earth doesn't 'technically' orbit the sun. Don't even have to click the link to tell you what it says - both the sun and all the planets orbit the center of mass of the entire system. That center of mass is very near the center of the sun, owing to its enormity in comparison to the rest of the mass of the system.

That's not a change in the model at all - it is exactly as the law of gravity discovered by Newton ((a devout Christian)) describes it should be.
