But I DID back up my position with scripture.. John 3:5 Where Jesus said we must be born of water and Spirit. Every Minister and Priest baptises with water and Spirit. And John 3:22 where, right after Jesus said we must be born of water and spirit..He went out with the disciples and He baptised! I have been talking with non-Catholics for years. I don't blame these my brothers and sisters in Christ for being ignorant of Catholic doctrine. But I have yet to meet an ex-Catholic who knew anything much about..Catholicism! They always get Catholic doctrine..ALL wrong. Their reasons for leaving Catholicism is usually a combination of poor Catechesis and a bad experience with a Catholic..with a Judas Catholic! Please.. Don't leave Jesus because of Judas.

I don't quite understand your logic. I do know in the bible were Jesus tells the people they must be "born again"into His way. So John the Baptist gave them a baptism. Are you suggesting that these people had been baptized once before, That they were getting baptized for a second time...

Catholics, follow that tradition. For 2 thousand years I guess... 1 baptism for the forgiveness of our sins.

God bless you Kem. But their is no need to defend who we are. And one thing that I am most proud of is that we are about what is good and what right. Rather then sitting around demeaning other
religions. we have organized men's meetings (night's of Columbus) and lay out plans on how to serve the less fortunate. Be it collecting food and serving on food lines to gathering clothing to help all those in need Christian and non- Christian alike and it is an honor. One song that that we used to sing at mass that has been with me all my life was " They will know we are Christian by our love". I feel no need to demean people for their beliefs. As long as they have God in their lives and that " "ALL "are God's children. Be you Jewish or Believer in God, the all mighty... about what is good and right. Is good enough for me...

I was converted to Christianity by something I read in the book, The Greatest Story Ever Told, by Fulton Oursler, a Protestant. He said that when Jesus cried out, in Aramaic, "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" He was pointing to Psalm 22. It begins with those exact words! It describes the crucifixion in specific detail.."They have pierced my hands and my feet..For my garment they cast lots.." written 700 years BEFORE His crucifixion! I dropped to my knees in tears, and said, "O God! Only you could do this." I owe much to Protestant disciples of Christ..good men, that I have been blessed to know. Jesus' disciples.. good men, often got the true Gospel teachings of Christ all wrong and differed among themselves..as do the differing Protestant Churches of today. But Jesus ALWAYS corrected them! Was Jesus "demeaning them" to insist that they choose the one true Gospel that He taught..over their differing opinions? Jesus said. "I AM the way, THE Truth, and the life." The Truth is a..Someone! The Truth matters.
