It is the blessing of the LORD that makes rich, and He add no sorrow to it, Proverbs 10:22

It is the blessing of the Lord, not our own efforts, that makes us rich. Riches is a gift, a favor and an act of grace from God. Riches is not something we acquire. It is rather, something we receive. When you become rich, thank God, not yourself.

Only riches gained through honest means bring true happiness.

Wealth gained through fraud or violence is sorrow; they carry with them the seeds of tragedy. Property gained through land grabbing or estafa will sooner or later produce power struggles, mutual recriminations, quarrels and shame to one's family. Only riches that comes from God's hands and obtained through honest means bring no sorrow. They contain no bitter seed of tragedy.

Hey Gideon,

These are wise thoughts from the book of Proverbs,
and things we should all remember.

So what's going on that brings these things to mind for you today?
Is it because of the Senators in the Philippines that are up on charges,
or is it because of other things that are going on?

they're the big example on how life will be when you get things in a wrong way... accused senators' (personalities on pdaf scam) brains are messed up on how to defend their selves, reputation etc and they cling to hospitals and travel abroad to avoid. . .

they have money but their heads are in turmoil . . . .

Hey Little Brother,

Sounds pretty bad.
I've been too busy to keep up with news over there lately,
I'll try to do some reading and catch up.

But it's no surprise those guys seem crazy.
The further you get into corruption, the more unstable you become.
Sometimes God's punishment for people is to just let them get what they want...
and it destroys them.

Well, I think this verse explains itself pretty much.. Proverbs 11:24-25: "One person gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes."

Another good verse for politicians...

Proverbs 26:27
Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein: and he that rolleth a stone, it will return upon him.

The lost world calls that "karma".
God just calls it justice.
