(Luke 21:22 KJV) For these be the days of vengeance, that ALL things which are written may be fulfilled.

(Luke 21:20 KJV) And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.

We know that Jerusalem was "compassed with armies" from AD 66 - so why would we not believe Jesus when he said "ALL" things which are written may be fulfilled"?

(Luke 21:32 KJV) Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.

Jesus stated that ALL would be fulfilled.

(Mat 16:28 KJV) Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.

Jesus told the high priest and those with him that they would "see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven".

(Mark 14:61 KJV) But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?

(Mark 14:62 KJV) And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

(Luke 19:42 - 44 KJV) Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.

For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side, And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.

The above can only relate to 1st century AD Jerusalem.

Amen, It's sad that such a remarkable fulfillment of prophecy is misinterpreted by so many Christians today. It is a great testament to the validity of God's word.

1 Thessalonians 4:15-18
[SUP]15 [/SUP]For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. [SUP]16 [/SUP]For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. [SUP]17 [/SUP]Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. [SUP]18 [/SUP]Therefore comfort one another with these words.

Is there any reason that we should not see this comment "we who are alive and remain" any other way than that Paul is saying that they would still be alive when this happened? And not to beat a dead horse, how many times can someone read "soon" and "the time is near" and time claim that we are still waiting for this to happen.

As I have pointed out before, when Jesus said that Judas was "at hand", Judas came before He finished speaking.
[SUP]45 [/SUP]Then He *came to the disciples and *said to them, Are you still sleeping and resting? Behold, the hour is at hand and the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners. [SUP]46 [/SUP]Get up, let us be going; behold, the one who betrays Me is at hand!”[SUP]47 [/SUP]While He was still speaking, behold, Judas, one of the twelve, came up accompanied by a large crowd with swords and clubs, who came from the chief priests and elders of the people.

Also we have the verse in Ezekiel 12:27-28, where God says none of my words will be delayed any longer.
[SUP]27 [/SUP]“Son of man, behold, the house of Israel is saying, ‘The vision that he sees is for many years from now, and he prophesies of times far off.’ [SUP]28 [/SUP]Therefore say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God, “None of My words will be delayed any longer. Whatever word I speak will be performed,”’” declares the Lord God.

How do you get through to someone who has been taught incorrectly their whole lives? Besides through prayer.

Good points raised TL - the only reason that imminence statements such as "at hand" are ignored is because it does not fit into the prepositional "doctrine" of man. Christendom has had the wool pulled over their eyes for hundreds of years.

How many times does Jerusalem have to be surrounded by armies for Jesus statements to become true?

The Siege of Jerusalem was part of a military conflict which took place in the year 637 between the Byzantine Empire and the Rashidun Caliphate.

The Siege of Jerusalem took place from June 7 to July 15, 1099 during the First Crusade. The climax of the First Crusade, the successful siege saw the Crusaders seize the city from the Fatimid Caliphate

The Siege of Jerusalem was a siege on the city of Jerusalem that lasted from September 20 to October 2, 1187, when Balian of Ibelin surrendered the city to Saladin.

The 1244 Siege of Jerusalem took place after the Sixth Crusade, when the Khwarezm conquered the city on July 15, 1244

The 1834 Siege of Jerusalem took place during the Peasants' revolt in Palestine, which erupted following the entry of Egyptian general Ibrahim Pasha into Ottoman Syria and his subsequent military conscription demand upon the Arab villagers of the region. The siege was engaged by local Arab peasant rebels upon an Egyptian garrison of about 2,000 soldiers, beginning from May 21 until the arrival of Ibrahim Pasha's main force on June 7. The crushing defeat of rebel reinforcements took place on June 9, led by Ibrahim Pasha.

The Battle for Jerusalem occurred from December 1947 to 18 July 1948, when Jewish and Arab population of Mandatory Palestine and later Israeli and Jordanian armies fought for the control of the city.

And of course we had the 1967 war.

(Luke 21:20 KJV) And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.

(Luke 21:22 KJV) For these be the days of vengeance, that ALL things which are written may be fulfilled.

The most logical choice is that it would be the siege of Jerusalem that occurred in the 1st century.

(Luke 21:32 KJV) Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.
