Ash, be careful of ravenous wolf in sheeps clothing. It is people like Shad that teach the demonic OSAS doctrine that causes the simple minded to die in their sins. If the blind lead the blind they will both fall in the ditch
Shad is correct. You must read the Word of God in context. Be careful, Satan's first job is to deceive people, blinding them to the Truth or having them believe in some form of heresy. I don't have to prove anything. The Bible speaks for itself! I will pray for you. Jesus loves you so much. He died just so you could have a personal, secure relationship with Him. We are to share the true Gospel to those that don't know the Lord. I will not argue with you. Seek the Lord while He may be found!

License to sin is the fruit of OSAS.
Matthew 7
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

The OSAS doctrine's fruit is corrupt.

Romans chapter (5) must be a bummer for you and so difficult for you to even read. It contradicts everything you believe about grace, salvation, justification and the righteousness of God. How can you leave out of your faith such a crucial chapter of God's inspired word. Maybe that is why you have such a problem understanding certain aspects of the faith of the Son of God, who died and gave His life for us. Maybe some day your eyes will be opened and light will enter in and remove the obscurity / Is 29:18, 58:10, 59:9.

Actually it doesn't, because i take time to understand scripture instead of just fusing it into my preconceived doctrine.

John 3:16 says that “whoever believes in him [God’s only Son] should not perish but have eternal life.” I might assume you two are both saved as long as you do this. If you stop doing this, I might suspect you are no longer saved.

I have been staying out of this but I don't believe any person in any post thinks or has ever said they are perfect.

well maybe if some people would come off as someone trying to obey Christ instead of trying to be self righteous, and self led in their own theological studies than I wouldnt say things like that

Do you believe in “once saved, always saved”?

I believe that the true christian will persevere in the end.I dont stress osas doctrine because I dont necessarily believe in it but I do stress not letting the enemy guilt you into shame when you fall. You must get up,repent and turn from your sin and continue to move forward and unfortunately some people believe that osas is a doorway to hell but the truth is that God remains faithful amoung those that truly love Him and will chasten them whether they believe in that or not,God bless

When we pray to a loving God who helps us overcome sin,we arent desiring to live in sin in our heart and are pursing righteousness. When we stop praying we pursue sin and our flesh gains strenth over a desire to seek righteousness as beleivers so I stress a relationship with Jesus, not a salvation doctrine of losing salvation or not losing salvation. If you are truly seeking God that is all that matters. And this is why I have such a problem with watchmens observational theological conclusion is that he doesnt know who is seeking after God or who isnt so he cannot claim to know who is living in sin or turning from their sin

I believe that when a person believes in Christ and is baptized for the remission of their sins, (another sticking point), they are indeed always saved as long as their consciences convict them of sin, leading to repentence. Paul said:

2 Cor. 7: 8 Even if I caused you sorrow by my letter, I do not regret it. Though I did regret it--I see that my letter hurt you, but only for a little while-- 9 yet now I am happy, not because you were made sorry, but because your sorrow led you to repentance. For you became sorrowful as God intended and so were not harmed in any way by us. 10 Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.

But I cannot believe that a person who turns their back on God, and "has their consciences seared with a hot iron", and no longer repents of their sins, is still saved. The Holy Spirit will not stay forever in a corrupt temple and will eventually leave. Salvation is not a license to turn your back on God, and return to the old carnal ways. And to say that that person was never saved in the first place is Calvinist doctrine which is not supported in the Bible.
