I've been listening to Skillet for around fifteen years now (really got into them during Alien Youth). My favorite album by them arguably is "Collide".
One of my favorite songs by them is called "A little more". It is about how God's love can handle anything, and how God wants you to embrace his love. One of the lines is "Let the world crash, Love can take it". It's saying that even if this physical world goes to ruin, and everything falls apart, Love (God) will still remain.
Comatose is another good album, which I feel is an amazing album for people who are hurting. The Last Night can be for people who are struggling with self harm, Better than Drugs can help with addiction, These Nights can help with people with family issues, etc. The song "Whispers in the Dark" is a beautiful one, saying that God will always be with you.
Awake was not an album I really enjoyed to be honest. Not to say that it wasn't glorifying to God, I just didn't enjoy it as much as others. Felt a little too "safe", and that it didn't minister as much as others.
Rise is an interesting album as well, that it tells a story, of someone growing in faith, and going through struggles, while running the race God set for us. Salvation is one of my favorite songs in that album
.
This is just my opinion on them. I've enjoyed listening to their music over the years, and I feel it HAS helped me grow spiritually, and has comforted me through trials and rough times.
Some other bands you may like if you enjoy Skillet are RED, Thousand Foot Krutch, and Disciple (VERY rooted in Scripture, check out the song Eternity, LOVE IT). I'm sure there are other ones, but these come to mind. Hope this helps!
