I think that the answer to the OP is more basic than any I have read on this thread.
If, as I do, one believes in a creator God, then He, by virtue of creation, has the right of any creator over His creation.
This includes the right to destroy by any means at his disposal.
Unless or until I am able to create a better universe [not at all likely]; I lack the authority to question His acts or means.

The creator has all rights and authority over his creation.
As Pumicestone is NOT a Christian, he's not going to like ANYTHING the creator says or does.
For him, these accusations of genocide aren't the real issue at all.
For Pumicestone, a non-believer, the real issue is that he doesn't want a creator.
It wouldn't matter WHAT the creator said or did.
Pumicestone will not recognize an absolute authority over his life.
He will not accept his creator's authority over him.
God has given him the freedom to do this... for a time.
It's his choice.
