To reveal Jesus and the way to God's kingdom to humanity...along with the historicity of man, where he came from, where he is going, his nature as opposed to God's nature, the grand scheme of life under the sun, how we got here etc........

it is written that it is written[Jn.20:31] so that we may simply simply believe and continue to simply simply believe since Jesus said it is simply simply very difficult if not impossible for adults to simply simply believe - so any idea/comments how He solved this dilemma for Christians - wincam
Interesting to note that no matter how people on this site perceive your question, it has caused some to consider (on one level or other), how to respond according to the things that seem right. The answers are varied. No matter what country a person lives in, there are laws pertaining to the citizens of that land. Generally, those laws are written for the purpose of learning and understanding guidelines laid out by the governing body of that country. It is each citizen's responsibility to know and follow those guidelines. The bible is written with a similar purpose. For those who do not believe the purpose of the bible being written as evidence of a governing body, the laws Jesus fulfills within the follower is a continuing evidence for those who do not believe. A code? That would be a secular way of describing what is hidden from the unbeliever; but it is hidden in plain sight. This is not a code. It's just a point of fact. Even though your question appears testy, it does cause some to carefully consider the purpose of their personal faith. Yaright

do not be distracted from the fact what scripture says as at Jn.20:31 - wincam
If you are interpreting "life" in John 20:31 to mean eternal life, you are believing that it is man's belief that saves him eternally then that would be eternal salvation by the works of man. God has made available a life as we journey through this world of comfort and peace and security if we will follow his commandments.

To answer why the Bible was written you must first ask what does the Bible do. When you can answer this then you will know why it was written.
I am curious as to what you think the bible does?

If you know what the bible is and what it does then you know why it was written. Think for just a moment. What is the most basic function of the Bible?

Yes, to provide all the necessary information and answer all the necessary questions, sort of like the owner's manual for humans. But another aspect I believe God was quite intentional about was to have scripture as a sort of yardstick to truth, to measure truth by, to compare to the false doctrines of such as cults, which were even prophesied to come. Without scripture, man would have no one place to go, to seek the true knowledge of God, the pure word of God, or verify just what truth is. God couldn't really hold people accountable for gospel truth, if we didn't have any sure place to go for truth.

Acts 17:10 And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews. These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

People have to have something to neglect, or some last refuge, when the power's out, or their internet is down. It's also necessary at times, to copy and paste some random scripture, when you need to prove a point.

Good luck with that....can you say...(can-o-worms)
If you could tolerate a good discussion, instead of my way, or the highway, you might learn some of the truths in the scriptures. It is not my nature to be vindictive, and I know that it is my fleshly nature, and that God does not approve it, but sometimes the desire to retaliate comes forth. I do understand that what I say about the scriptures will not be perceived as truth, unless the Holy Spirit within the receiver reveals it.

LOL. I hadn't noticed the ages. I am not trying to be difficult or mysterious, I just want them to stop and think think for a moment about this. The answer is right in front of them.

I don't know about that. Actually, he probably already has them confused about just what it was they said.

What do you think the way to God's kingdom is?
I don't have to think about which way it is...the bible tells me clearly....

Jesus said, I am the way, the truth and the life, no man comes unto the Father by me.
Jesus said, I am the door of the sheep.
Jesus said, Except a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of GOD

I don't have to guess or think about it....I have the written word of God...the revealed word of God!
