Honestly black & white is not safe. Grey is safe cause everyone is good to go in grey. Black & white is only safe in the white that is Christ Jesus. & with that being said I want to apologise for the tones of my posts for they do not even remotely resemble who I am in Christ & I do regret being excessively harsh.

I went back and did not find the post above. But I do remember it, and the taste of hell in my heart that it brought. And then I wondered and questioned. Aspen is a catholic, obviously. What they call sanctification is seen differently from what we call sanctification. I read deeply with searching to see if it was ever said that there are other ways to salvation. I saw the concern for those who are mentally handicapped, as is my oldest son. And the usual concern for those who never hear. But I also saw the concern with the formula of salvation, which is merely a confession, with no change of heart, no new birth by the Spirit. Is this really salvation? I do not know, and it is a concern.

As to some other religions, if looked at objectively, they do seem to have followers who are acting more holy than christians. But, and this is a big but, without the work of regeneration by the Holy Spirit, there is very grave doubts about a persons salvation. It has not actually happened until this birth of the Spirit.

And additionally, we are to work out our own salvation in fear and trembling.

Aspen does take a mental stance in this group. It is a discussion, not actually fellowship.

You and I see this forum differently. We see it as a place where people seeking the truth come and read what is posted here, and anything that could be misconstrued is to be avoided. I take this to the extreme of seeking the Spirit. I have failed to do this, and have been shamed by those times.

I think that I want to get out of this now, I feel like I have stepped into something I should not have.

Blessings in His name,
This post is well presented. I need to add something though - I have spent considerable time discussing Adam and Eve on this board. My take on the story is that the most important reason Adam and Eve were thrown out of the Garden, was not the sin of eating the fruit - God would have worked through that with them; it was the lack of confession! A&E did not confess their sin to God - they played the blame game - therefore they were unable to remain in God's presence.

Now, I may not have mention the importance of the confession of sins (I talk about forgiveness constantly) as much as imoss would have liked - but my point is to emphasis love and forgiveness, which I do not feel is talked about enough, rather than the same, constant drum beat of asking Jesus into your heart and confessing you sins and being saved. I am not here to witness - I witness in real life, not online - which is probably due to the fact that I do not know one person who has heard the gospel online and been saved (please do not post or email me if you are the one person) - it is the same with airplanes - I do not witness there either in the evangelical, four spiritual laws kind of way. Why? because I know of one person in my entire life that went on to become a Christian after a plane flight due to witnessing - and he was actually annoyed that he had to listen to this Christian the entire flight.

I appreciate your apology and I am really ready to move on. Thanks for listening.

Yes, Adam and Eve hide from God, and they also lied to Him about why they ate of the fruit. Both of them blamed God for their sin. They were still tossed out of the garden because of their sin, and cursed because of their sin. Sin must be remitted. It must be.

As to witnessing, I agree that much of the time it is words, like a mantra. "If you would just believe, then you too could be saved."

This is not the witness of God in Jesus Christ. For this reason I disagree with you about being able to witness over the internet, or even in an airplane. If the Spirit is the one who is preparing the hearer, and if the words written are from Him, then He can work, even over the phone.

I think that we have a slight disagreement in what constitutes salvation. We agree that it is of Jesus Christ though. He can work out the rest.

Is it ok to bear false witness against your neighbor in order to discredit them? It seems to me that bearing false witness is included in the 10 commandments for a reason. And despite some people's belief that the ends justifies the means and that the Lord use evil purposefully, to bring about good; I believe God still condemns this practice today.
You know the commandments: `Do not kill, Do not commit adultery, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Do not defraud, Honor your father and mother.' Matt 10:19 RSV

In my previous post I quoted Jesus as telling us we are not to bear false witness. Once Jesus says something, that pretty much closes the subject, doesn’t it? If Jesus says not to bear false witness, then we mustn’t bear false witness.
