Re: "Not all who cry out Lord lord"...."Whoever calls on the name of the Lord.."
How do you reconcile these verses?
Matthew 7:21 states:"Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.
and
Romans 10:13
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
I'm not trying to stir up trouble. I just don't understand.
There is only one difference between the two verses, the leading of the Holy Spirit, and not allowing the Spirit to lead them.
Those who claim Christ, and allow the Spirit to lead them, will do what God requires of them, pleasing God,and show the characteristics of the Spirit, which then they are not under the law, which means that the law cannot touch them for prosecution.
Those who claim Christ, but do not allow the Spirit to lead them, wanting the flesh to be in control, will not please God,for they that are in the flesh cannot please God,and will not show the characteristics of the Spirit,so they are under the law,and the law can touch them for prosecution, and they are not doing the will of the Father.
Which the Bible says they have a form of godliness;but deny the power thereof, and are ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth, and lovers of pleasures, more than lovers of God.
The Bible says those that name, the name of Christ, must depart from iniquity, but all people that claim Christ,do not do this,so to call upon the name of the Lord,is also to allow the Spirit to lead them, doing the will of the Father.
That is the difference, allowing the Spirit to lead them, and denying the Spirit to lead them, which the parable of the ten virgins is an example, that 5 made it in the resurrection, and 5 did not, because the 5 that made it,had oil in their vessels, with their lamps, which means they were led of the Spirit, with the Spirit teaching them the word of God,and 5 did not have the oil,for they denied the Spirit leading them.
All who call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved, but that also means allowing the Spirit to lead them, and departing from iniquity, which all people do not do.
