Here's a simple test for the validity of the tongues being spoken and interpreted. Utter a passage of scripture in the Hebrew or Greek and wait for the interpretation.
I would think another test would have to be formed first . Tongue is a revelation of God, after no man. God is no longer bringing new prophecy.

Adding to God’s interpretation the Bible that we have in full (perfect) with no laws missing by which we could now him more intimately is the goal of the father of lies.

Without adding to the revealed will of God how could the father of lies deceive men.

Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 2Th 2:9

Adding to God’s perfect word brings the strong delusion needed to continue to believe the lie.
The scripture informs us in that way(lo is Christ here is a new revelation ) it is impossible to deceive the elect. there are no new revelation that say the lord has spoken

And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not:
For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.Mar 13:21

It becomes will a person get under the authority of God’s word and do what it says?

Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book. And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things. Rev 22:8

We cannot keep the saying of the book if we add to it.

For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. Rev 22:18

Would men need more than He has revealed as evidence they have the Holy Spirit that created a new heart in the believer?.

Are tongues today after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders or is God still bringing new revelations?

I also see no problem in a setting where speaking in tongues by praying to our Father is accepted by all - for a time when a leader can say.."Let's spend some time praying in the spirit to our Father as a corporate body." There is no need for an interpretation here because we are praying as a unit to the Father.
How would praying in the Spirit be interpreted as the same as speaking in tongues?

If we know what we are saying God will hear us. He knows all the languages in the world, including the thoughts of our heart before they are pronounced from our lips.

Praying in the spirit? In tongues?

From the Word we are taught there are times when we pray and we do not know exactly what to say, and we give out with a heartfelt sigh, even this is the Holy Spirit intervening for us in our words parying both in tongues and in the spirit. Any sigh is nto praying in the spirit however what our soul is sensing when we pray and giv out a natural sigh, it is the spirit............how do I know? The Bible says so.

Amen God is no longer bringing any new revelations .The Spirit of utterance has ceased to reveal His will as more than that we in which we already have . Do we need more and if so what could be the reason?
Dear cessationists,
You guys only have one verse to fall back on.(actually none)

In that verse,as a cessationists, you have no knowledge.

For it says "knowledge will cease"

You guys on your quest, have actually depicted yourselves as unknowledgeable.

Interesting.

Um,no.

God's protocol is "Spirit first"...."bible second"

Experience first,word following in confirmation.

When the Holy Spirit moves upon a believer or a congregation,He does NOT come announcing Himself THEOLOGICALLY.

HE seeks NO MENTAL approval.

HE needs NO MENTAL approval.

Cessationists are mental.

They are satisfied. They are "parked".
They have no hunger.

God just leaves them in their rejection of his power.

Seems unbelievable to me.

You have the correct understanding of unknown tongues.

God is not confined to men's languages.

The bible says he who speaks in tongues edifies himself but his mind is unfruitful.

What you are saying is God can not possibly do that.

How do I know ,when I speak in tongues,it is not just mental, made up jibberish?

Two ways.

1) my spirit soars into heaven, and God stands up inside me. I feel his presence and heavy, heavy mantle come upon me.

2) IT IS CONFIRMED IN HIS WORD.

Thank You Jesus, that You have not changed anything. If fact, you power is being poured out in these days in even greater measure.

How can we know cessationists are wrong?

The bible.

That is how.

They do not have a single verse to support their bogus claims.

I'm not saying that God is confined I'm just saying that per 1 Corinthians 14:27, a man can only speak in 3 unknown tongues. Those tongues are Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek, and one (God) interprets. Those are the languages of the original manuscripts.

1 Corinthians 14:27 KJV
If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.

I am not a cessationists spiritual gifts are still available, just not ones that bring new prophecy .Tongue the prophecy of God it is after no man. God is no longer bringing new prophecy in any manner to include a tongue. .

Yes new knowledge, coming from new prophecy as revelations from God have ceased two thousand years ago .

If there is no new prophecy there will be no new knowledge. Spiritual gifts spoken of in respect to the love of God never fail.
The perfect(complete) has come we are not to add from it or take away from it.

There is nothing we can do to prove we have the Holy Spirit no such thing as a sign gift .Sign are for those who rebel not for those who believe prophecy.. We walk by faith (the unseen) not by sight after experiencing some work we could perform

Its what the apostate Jew were found guilty of.Self approval by experiences something they did. It produced self righteousness and is why he offered them the verse in John 5

Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. Joh 5:39

Experience is not the valuation of Spiritual truth, scriptures alone are.

Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
1Co 13:8

Do we need more than He has revealed as evidence of His Holy Spirit.?

Interesting.

God's protocol is "Spirit first"...."bible second"
I see that a little differently.

We hear God by a work of His Spirit through the words of His faith. It is all one work of His faith. No Bible no hearing the Spirit.

Experience first,word following in confirmation.
The word of God first. It is not after our experiences. That would be walking by sight and not the faith of Christ that comes from hearing God.

When the Holy Spirit moves upon a believer or a congregation,He does NOT come announcing Himself THEOLOGICALLY.
Yes He does not announce himself theologically, theology is the outcome of His Spirit working in us to both will and do His good pleasure

HE seeks NO MENTAL approval.

HE needs NO MENTAL approval.

Cessationists are mental.

They are satisfied. They are "parked". They have no hunger.
Mental as in retarded or mental as in we have the mind of Christ.?

They are satisfied they have the whole will of God and not in part before the last chapter Revelation.

Can’t hunger for something He is no longer providing. The only possibility is a person will receive the strong delusion to believe the lie that He is still bringing new revelations.

Is He still bringing new revelations ? Are you starving because you need more than he has revealed?

I would be careful he could sent a famine for hearing the word of God .

God just leaves them in their rejection of his power.

Seems unbelievable to me.
It confirms His power as to not look for new revelations. The what you call mental will not be deceived into believing; lo is Christ, I was given a tongue as a new revelation...

For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.Behold, I have told you before. Mat 24:24

He has told us beforehand .Will a person obey the warning not to add or take away from the now perfect word of God.

Yes more than one .But here is one .Can we add to it or is God cessationists and He has ceased adding to it and we obey the warning ?

Rev 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
Rev 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

I cannot believe there is so much dissension over the proper, orderly way to participate in worship.....something that is so clearly explained by Paul.

Especially over something that Paul called "the least of the gifts of the Spirit"...

It appears to me that too many people have their own agenda about how to "prove" their supposed higher level of spirituality.

God can speak the language of all nations and interpret what He spoke in many langues .There were ten recorded .

And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language. And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans? And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born? Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,Cretes and Arabians, we do hearthemspeak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.

Tongues is two fold. It mutually works in both the one given the revelation inspired by God (not by Peter) in Peters own language, and God inspired it by interpreting it into another. And the other speaking in their language could be heard in the Hebrew to complete the cycle . It is how they reasoned together by the scriptures . Its not a one sided gift .

The least of the gift expired when God no longer brought any new revelations.

The idea of needing more than God has revealed comes from another agenda. It would seem to be the agenda of self righteousness, self approval by a work some say they are performing to "prove" their supposed higher level of spirituality.as evidence they have the Holy Spirit. No such thing a sign gifts. Signs are for those who do not believe. . Prophecy, hearing the word of God for those who do have the faith of Christ dwelling in them .

What a testimony of a great charismatic. Sarcasm much? Yeah I confess.

All about man and God get with mans program.

With all the bible at your disposal why did you not cite specific references to support your position? Oh I know you want to cite without having to get too many specifics involved because they kind of don't support what you say they support. Honest biblical context and lingual translations conflict with private interpretations.

not to sure where you get the only three unknown tongues from? am sure that paul was referring to the speakers themselves, not the tongue spoken.as in two or three speak in an orderly fashion.those speaking in tongues would not have spoken in there own langwich (greek hebrew whatever}since that would be a known tongue to them.

I went to a service yesterday and made an observation. The lady who led the worship is known as as someone who speaks in tongues and I know she usually wait until the last song song she sings on her set list until she starts worshiping in tongues. She'll be calm before then all you hear is tongues for like 5 minutes including singing part of the song in tongues (which she is known for). She doesn't hide it, she does it clearly on the mic and for me it seems all show (I may be wrong but that's the way it seems). We also then had a guest guest preacher and she also spoke in tongues but in contrast she always did it away from the mic so you can't clearly hear her but you know it was tongues. For her it was more personal or maybe she was more mature to not just let the whole congregation hear.
