Yes. I am not even saying you are wrong and I am right. I am just saying there is a different way to look at it that makes more sense to me...
I believe all the promises and all the blessings are through Christ. We are the heirs because of Him.
You are saying that salvation only is what we are inheriting and physical land in in the middle east is promised to Israel.
It seems, to me, this is the mistake that the Jews made when the Lord Jesus Christ came 2000 yrs ago. They thought He would be their physical King in their physical Kingdom in their physical Land.
I can't say that it is the wrong view to think that physical Israel still has physical land promises. It just doesn't seem so to me. But I can't put myself in the place of God and say 'That is wrong and this is right'.... Gods Ways are not our ways...
it was the mistake. They did not realise God had to save their eternal souls first. This is part of the mystery paul spoke of all throughout his writings. That the messiah and the suffering servant are one and the same, There is no way people before the cross could have known this, God hid it for a reason. But that is another topic.
And that still does not negate the fact that God did promise to be a king.
This is one thing we can use to see this.
Jesus, reading OT prophet..
[SUP]
17 [/SUP]And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written:
[SUP]
18 [/SUP]“The Spirit of the Lord
is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to
the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,[SUP]
[j][/SUP]
To proclaim liberty to
the captives
And recovery of sight to
the blind,
To set at liberty those who are oppressed;
[SUP]
19 [/SUP]To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”[SUP]
[k][/SUP]
[SUP]
20 [/SUP]Then He closed the book, and gave
it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed on Him.
[SUP]
21 [/SUP]And He began to say to them, “
Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”
if we read the actual OT passage in Isaiah;
And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all who mourn,
[SUP]
3 [/SUP]To console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”
[SUP]
4 [/SUP]And they shall rebuild the old ruins,
They shall raise up the former desolations,
And they shall repair the ruined cities,
The desolations of many generations.
[SUP]
5 [/SUP]Strangers shall stand and feed your flocks,
And the sons of the foreigner
Shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.
[SUP]
6 [/SUP]But you shall be named the priests of the Lord,
They shall call you the servants of our God.
You shall eat the riches of the Gentiles,
And in their glory you shall boast.
[SUP]
7 [/SUP]Instead of your shame
you shall have double
honor,
And
instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion.
Therefore in their land they shall possess double;
Everlasting joy shall be theirs.
we see, Jesus stopped short, because the rest was not yet to happen.. This is called a forward looking prophecy, You see the events as told, but you can ot know they do not happen all at one.
The rest will happen in the day of vengeance, or Gods wrath. After with when God will restore Israel.
The people who jesus read to should have seen this, But they could not. Because they were looking for the second part. Which jesus kept from them. because it was not to happen yet. and not looking to the first part,
ANd yes, That's why U like discussing with you. No condemnation, I do know this, one day we WILL know who is right.. lol
