Selfless Pregnant Mother Decides To Carry Baby Without Brain Full Term To Donate Organs | The Huffington Post

I'm against abortion unless the baby is already dead or in cases where the labor would cause the mother to die. However, I think everyone would agree that this woman is making an incredibly tough decision. Doctors have told this woman and her husband that their baby will not develop a brain and, because of this, will only live a few hours. Despite this, the mother has decided to carry the baby to term because a) the baby has a right to meet her parents, even if she dies soon after birth, and b) because the organs can be donated to save the lives of other infants.

I can't even imagine being placed in this situation and, while I full-heartedly believe the right thing to do would be to carry the baby to term and give her the life she deserves, I can't picture what I'd do in the face of this type of news. However, I definitely don't know if I'd be selfless enough to think of organ donation and a time like that. Let's all pray that God work a miracle in this couple's life and, against all odds, a brain does develop and the baby survive. However, even if God doesn't do that, let's pray that He stay with the couple through their grief and times of trouble and, if they are not Christians, bring them to Him.

Is there one single person here who is not willing to go to the trouble of remembering to keep this whole family in prayers for the next ....... however long you feel God asks you to keep on praying?

My son was c-sectioned and gray when he came out, no signs of life other than a heart beat, all the doctors said he would not live but a few hours and at most a few days....He was my first born and I have lost two children to this disease other than him....churches and believers began to pray and in gut wrenching tears I gave him over to God and told God his will would be done and even now thinking about this family and this Child my heart breaks and brings tears to this MARINE from the 80's....my son David Paul, named after my dad who was killed when I was three, just turned 21 in September....even though his health has begun to change and he has lost about 80% of his good lung....the Lord gave "BOOGER" 21 years when ALL doctors said he would not live.....

This family has my prayers and will have my prayers even if hell freezes over!

Most Doctors do have your best interest at heart. Especially the ones that pray over you. I must say that they still don't know everything. Healing is healing and our God is mighty! God please bless this woman with her maternal wish...Please let a miracle for this baby be your will! In your Holy name I pray! Amen!

My cousin and his wife were given the same devastating news. The pregnancy is not viable, abort. They decided to have the child anyway. They are not Christians but we prayed and that child is a 100% healthy, beautiful pre-teen young lady today.Doctors are not always right.

Same happened to my cousin and his wife a few days ago. She gave birth prematurely and was only able to see her son for 3 hours until he passed away. They both said, he might be with the Lord, but they can say they were officially parents. He was their first.

In my philosophy class last semester we were talking about abortions and my professor (claimed he wasn't biased the whole semester but silly me) was arguing about why have children with diseases be born. I asked my mother and she said abortion is wrong in any case and told me a story of a Spanish celebrity who's son was born with a disease, his wife could of had an abortion but they decided to have the child be born and when God decides to take him then, let it be.

You can tell your cousin without doubt their son is with the Father.I myself believe some born to this age are just to good to be here. Just my thought.
