Do you think the end of the world "soon" "theology" is affecting the way Christians interact with the "world" and society?
Do I fear the world, as to the likes of Satan stepping up his world system order on earth in the end times? (Is this close to your question?) The answer is No! Will many begin to walk away from Jesus, absolutely!, just as was the case in Jesus' day with the disciples. But there is something we all must reckon with in the ways of our faith: "We are in the world ..." and that's exactly where God would have us be. And, ".....but we are not of it." This doesn't come in percentages, it is 100% not of it thru Salvation, the release of that former bondage, toward the freedom to serve Our Father in Heaven.
So, when Christians are getting beheaded for their faith, how does that change Scripture? Or His victory? Or His power? Or His Power in you? Or His assurance of Salvation? "And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with ALL thy heart, and with ALL thy soul, and with ALL thy mind, and with ALL thy strength: This is the first commandment." And the second is like, namely this, "Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself." Would you want me to bail on you as a non-christian especially when the end is near to face the judgement of God?
End times will bring a horrid supply of circumstances towards a believer, some will fade from their walk with God, but others who overcome will see a unique thing happen as well: The dominant thing about a Saint is not-self-realization, but the Lord Himself; consequently a Saint can always be ignored because to the majority of eyes our Lord is no more noticeable in the life of a Saint than He was to men in the days of His flesh. But when a crisis (end times) comes the Saint is the one to whom men turn; and the life that seemed colorless is seen to be the white light of God.
We need to trust God will finish that which He started in all of us, and never fear the end times!
