Celebrating Hitler's birthday on the concept of legalizing pot is neither a good idea nor a good post for a Christian site.

Psa 104:14 He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth;
Psa 104:15 And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengtheneth man's heart.

so, does this mean to go party.... not exactly, what it does mean is to enjoy and use properly what the Almighty has given us, if we are in bondage to any substance then we are in violation of this principle, what the Father meant for our good becomes a instrument for our bondage and destruction... Rom 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

It's called dope for a reason, also wacky weed for a reason. I value my intellect and don't want to take anything that makes me act like a dope. I have no desire to be more stupid than I already am.

Drugs opens up spiritual doors to allow demons in your life. Personally dont think it's something to be celebrated but you have the right to do as you desire.

The marijuana movement has been 'played'. 4/20 is a date highly favored by satanists and evil people...for committing acts of mayhem and murder. The "Colombine High School" mass murder was staged on 4/20, as just one example. I'll be surprised if we make it through today without some significant event.

Truthfully, the way you whip out this "happy 420!"...like it's Christmas...are you a dope-head, possibly? Just a young guy going nowhere and who likes to drop in mental oblivion?

There are a few medicinal aspects to maryjane...otherwise, 90% of the people who celebrate 4/20 are just dope-heads. Mindlessness and/or drug- and alchohol-induced altered and impaired mental states...are a point-blank violation of scripture which instructs us to not become impaired.

No kidding.

What does this have to do with "Bible discussion"? Not that I'm concerned. The people who run this board are giving us spectacular freedom and latitude compared to what I've seen on other boards. Which I greatly appreciate.

But this kid's photo of himself on the side (LOL) looks like he's deliberately wanting to creep people out and then with this OP, just trying to start some trouble then whoosh away. He's probably still going though his "ding-dong-ditch" phase.

Mathew 15:11. He was talking about food and no verse in the bible is if any private interpretation but I do think that applies to everything that's consumed. I was a drug addict for many years so I advocate a spirit lead life over a Carnel one. I just think God gives gifts to men. Not to be abused. Anything can be abused. I think there's medical benefits to the plant as well as practical. Though there is a strong case to be made for complete abstinence.

I suspected you didn't know. (That's why I wasn't offended.)

Go on Google and start typing "Hitler's birthday." As you type it, notice the choices Google gives. (They keep changing the choices letter by letter as we type.) You will quickly get the choice "Hitler420. When that is hit, it is a bunch of sites that are talking about legalizing marijuana.

Why? Because today is Hitler's birthday. Somehow his birthday has become synonymous with all sorts of wacky stupid stuff -- the shooting at Columbine, the OKC bombings, Virginia Tech shootings, and more.

The only reason I noticed is because my birthday was two days ago and I kept wondering why there were mass shootings/total destruction around MY birthday every year. (It's annoying. My birthday was the day three riders road across Massachusetts to say "The British are coming!" At least that's heroic. lol)

Hitler was a creep, so the creeps celebrate his birthday. And because they are creeps, they tend to try and get everyone else to go along with them, not knowing why. Who better to get to go along for a ride than stoners, who tend to not notice much at all?

It's connected.

I'm not one of those people who think the devil is responsible for every evil in the world. I tend to think we do evil on our own far more often than he does. However, somehow this date has become a known date for a whole bunch of evil in the last couple of decades, so I do wonder if it might not truly be Satan. It is eerie like that.

There are two scriptures one can point to, just for openers:

"Be not drunk with wine...". In other words, don't subject yourself to impaired and altered mental states.

Then 1 Peter 5:8 - "Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour."

In other words, there is a connection between having an un-sober spirit...and being taken advatage of and being set upon...by the Devil. Just like the other brother here has said:

Drugs opens up spiritual doors to allow demons in your life.

They have nothing to do with eachother and I'm by no means thinking about Hitler. Look up your birthday. There's bound to be a bunch of wicked stuff that happend. Or anyone's birthday for that matter.

As a former hippie, long years ago, I admit I tried all of these mind altering drugs. Pot, I gave up before I became a Christian, as it really interfered with cognitive function. I realized it wasn't worth the wasted time I spent stoned.

I do not drink, because I do believe abstinence, not just for me, but for everyone. I am in a church where people think moderate drinking is ok. I decided it was not my place to correct or discipline people for moderate drinking. I was in a discussion group, and I talking about God delivering me from alcohol when I was saved. Then, the entire group of women started talking about alcohol being a problem, including one of the pastor's wives. I was shocked, but really not surprised. They all admitted they were using because they needed it and could not quit! Shocking!

Because using alcohol does creep up on you. You start depending upon it to "relax" to "have fun" and to socialize. I reported it to my pastor, before realizing that he also was drinking too much. Call it dependency, not alcoholism if there is a difference.

So what does that have to do with pot? Well, back in the 60's and 70's when it was totally illegal, I saw many wasted lives! And it really is a gateway drug to hard drugs, for some people (not all!). Now, in those days, it was hard to get. What will happen when it is legalized? (It is being legalized in Canada, too!). I dread to think of what is going to happen! Having watched the damage that alcohol has wrought, I know from my own experiences with pot, that it could end up being worse than alcohol.

The whole thing just makes me sick to my stomach! It is yet another sign of the downfall of our society!

I like the feeling of being sober, and not under not the influence of alcohol,or drugs, and feel like a more decent person, and happy to say,I do not do such, but I am a person that cares about mental and physical health.

But I have good genes, and do not have to take any medication, and I kind of doubt I have to take any medication, and I am not lying, but I cannot tell the difference between 18 years old,and 54 years old,but I have always kept in good shape, but if I had to take medication,I probably would not, that is how much I do not like that crap in my body, which it is not meant for the body, which you can tell by the side effects it can produce, but it will slow down a problem, may mask it,but does it ever take it away.

I think I can get away with it by grinning and bearing it,for there is not problems that are in my family to be concerned with.

I agree with the first part of your post, but I think that the personal comments on the OP's avatar photo were not needed. First, we don't know whether that it is a picture of him or of someone else. Second, even if it is of himself, his appearance is irrelevant to the issue. How many of us would think Jesus was a pot-head if He showed up in church unexpectedly, long hair and sandals evident, and asked simply, "So, what's your view on cannabis?" Let's not judge on mere appearances.
