Hey DS: Just a little advise, you will not do well in a bible discussion if you chose to change the scriptures so as to make your point seem better. Paul did not say of Alexander the coppersmith that, the Lord WILL repay him according to his deeds. By adding the WILL you tried to make it appear that Paul was simply speaking of the final judgment. Not good to change the intentions of the word of God. Paul said of Alexander the coppersmith, he did ME much evil, the Lord reward him according to his works. Does that sound like Paul forgave the guy or does that sound like Paul requested of the Lord that Alexander be rewarded for his evil deeds? We are to practice forgiving people, that means not taking revenge ourselves, however vengeance itself is just and something that God practices.

Romans 12:19 (KJV)
Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath:
for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

Isaiah 34:8 (KJV)
For it is the day of the Lord's vengeance,
and [the year] of recompences for the controversy of Zion.

Isaiah 63:4 (KJV)
For the day of vengeance is in mine heart,
and [the year] of my redeemed is come.

Luke 21:22 (KJV)
For these be the days of vengeance,
that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

Deuteronomy 32:35 (KJV)
To me belongeth vengeance, and recompence; their foot shall slide
in due time: for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things
that shall come upon them make haste.

Jeremiah 46:10 (KJV)
For this is the day of the Lord God of hosts, a day of vengeance,
that he may avenge him of his adversaries: and the sword shall devour,
and it shall be satiate and made drunk with their blood:for the Lord God
of hosts hath a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates.

Proverbs 6:34 (KJV)
For jealousy is the rage of a man:
therefore he will not spare in the day of vengeance.

Revelation 11:18 ...and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.

Zephaniah 1:17 (KJV)
And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because
they have sinned against the Lord: and their blood shall be poured out as dust,
and their flesh as the dung.

Hi Willie: You have a pattern of almost never saying anything sensible, I say "almost" because on rare occasions I have actually read something from you that did make a little sense. Unfortunately this is not one of those times.
I meant that although, in our younger years, you and probably got taught some pretty warped theology, I have worked hard to unlearn most of it, while you seem to have nestled down into it and made a home in that kind of thinking.

You do realize you've never actually answered my questions, right? But you keep putting down anyone who disagrees with you. It's really hard to figure out how to not disagree with you if you never tell us what YOU think.

Two things you do well:
-- Post what others say.
-- Tell how others get everything wrong.

What you don't do often is tell what Willie believes!
Truthfully, by the time I wade through most of your excessively lengthy posts, I miss most any question you might have asked.

Hi Samuel,

I quoted the scriptures exactly as written in the NASB. I would never alter a scripture to prove a point of view I have. That's why I quote from a word for word translation and not something like the message that can give a totally different understanding of
scripture.

Nice maneuver from my question :) But OK, let us leave it be...
Might want to check your question again. I answered that. Love your enemy is not the gospel.

And ignore the rest?

Yeah, really. You just like to be above everyone else. Even there. A little pat on your own back for not being "excessive."

If you don't feel like reading lengthy post, then, by all means, don't. But then don't make it into your personal Storm Norman posts to potshot everyone when you offer nothing.
