I was probably at work. Current events don't really phase me at all.

That was the day that communism(Godlessness) in the eastern world took a big hit.

I remember that day because my ma was watching the news ,like she does everyday, and she had tears in her eyes

And being the 14 yr old hell raiser that i was,i asked her why are you crying ma? I didnt do nothing today(i use to be brought back home by cops almost nightly)

And she stared at me for like 10-15 sec (which scared the heck of me) and she says "you didnt do nothing wrong pete....for once this world did something right".

It took many years to figure out why my ma was crying.

How did you feel about current events?
I'm pretty sure that wasn't the day JFK got assassinated. I would have been hard at work processing returns in a JCPenney distribution center, unless it was a weekend.

I remember. I was ten. My mother woke me up to watch what was happening on television. I thought they were rowdy teenagers tearing up a grafiti covered wall. She explained to me that the people had been divided from each other for many years. Family members were separated from one another. She said on one side of the wall, the people were not free. On the other side of the wall, the people were free. She told me that if the people who were not free tried to leave, and get to the free side, they would be shot.

I still remember the images of people tearing down the wall and climbing over it and top of it. That Christmas, one of my presents was a piece of the Berlin Wall. It was an emotional experience to see it being torn down, and something I am glad to have been old enough to witness (I realize that makes me "past it", lol).

Yes very much so . November 9th is my mother"s birthday. I was in mom's house at the kitchen table. Our family was watching her opening her birthday gifts . The next day I read the paper and saw the story about the lifting of the ban on travel ,and thought how cool mom got a present and so did Germany.
Blessings

It was black. Everywhere I looked, it was black. Very black. The darkest black. You wouldn't believe how black it was. I couldn't run, I couldn't scream. But even more strange than the seemingly eternal blackness I was in was how empty, how silent, how emotionless I felt. My mind was blank, and more silent than a library. Apathy took me, inside and out, despite not knowing where the heck I was. I didn't know why at first, but then, it hit me...

I was not born yet, silly! :)

How did you feel about current events?
Astonished. Not only did Reagan topple the USSR, he toppled the Iron Curtain too!

As for that particular day? I was in Pitman, NJ looking for a new job.

What I really remember is Pink Floyd kept their word and had "The Wall" at "The Wall." Way cool!

I was in my hometown trying desperately to restore the integrity of the space-time continuum since my previous time travel experience prevented my parents from meeting.
