I noticed these words in Revelation: “He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit said to the churches; To him that overcomes will I give to eat of the hidden manna …” (Revelation 2:17). And the words “He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit said to the churches” are said seven times. Since they are especially emphasized in Revelation, that means what the Spirit said to the churches must be very important, and that God wants everyone to hear His utterances. But here it is said: “To him that overcomes will I give to eat of the hidden manna.” Now that the Lord Jesus’ words have been revealed to all of mankind, they cannot be the “hidden manna.” Then what does the “hidden manna” refer to?

Since it is called "hidden" manna, the meaning will remain hidden until the appropriate time. Not all things have been fully revealed.

One might consider the "understanding" of Jesus' parables, to be hidden manna. Another, might consider that "understanding", to be having the "key of David." whereas, yet another, might look at it, as Israel did in Moses' day, of trudging through the wilderness, and say: "What is THAT?" Which is the translation from the Hebrew for "manna."

Which means that, any one, or all of us, at one time or another, may have been given hidden manna. But, instead of partaking it? Ya said: "What's THAT?"

Revelation 2:17

The hidden manna - Israel's heavenly food, in contrast to the idol meats (Rv 2:14). A pot of manna was laid up in the Holy Place 'before the testimony.' The allusion is to this: also to the Lord's discourse (Jn 6:31-35). 'The manna which is hidden.' As the manna hidden in the sanctuary was by divine power preserved uncorrupt, so Christ, in His incorruptible body, is hidden in heaven until His appearing (Ac 3:21). Christ is the manna "hidden" from the world, but revealed to the believer, who has already a foretaste of His preciousness. Compare Christ's own hidden food on earth (Job 23:12; Jn 4:32,34). The full manifestation shall be at His coming. Believers are now hidden, even as their meat is (Ps 83:3; Col 3:3). Like the incorruptible manna in the sanctuary, the spiritual feast, offered to all who reject the world's dainties for Christ, is everlasting: an incorruptible body and life in Christ at the resurrection.

Look who it is addressed to???? The Overcomer...... Will be fed through and by the Hidden Manna WHERE????..The Kingdom to come."

All the Letters tell us something about the overcomers.

Overcomer is a person(s) who is able to become part of the "Body of Christ" despite the doctrine and teachings of the Church they attend.

In fact, all Lampstands (candelstands) are in Heaven REV. 4.... telling us there are "OVERCOMERS" representing every Church.

The hidden manna is the other tree in the garden of Eden- which is now in heaven. The reason it is hidden is because we have to wait till after judgement day to get it. Once we eat from it, we will never die again.

It's Christ via the holy spirit, just another term to describe the holy spirit/living water/tree of life.

John 6:31 Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat.

John 6:32 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.

John 6:33 For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.

Manna is spiritual food.
In this life, human beings can only exist when they feed their bodies. The same can be said about our spiritual body. If we choose not to feed our soul, our soul will die. Jesus said, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.” Mt 4:4 This one phrase bears examination. Jesus made it clear that we can’t live just by eating food. We must also have the Word which proceeds from the mouth of God.

Since eternal life is already a gift to the believer, and also guarantees either no physical death or a resurrection, the tree of life is not the source of eternal life. It is the Lord Jesus Christ Himself who is our life (John 6:32-35).

32 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.

33
For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.

34
Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.

35
And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

The hidden manna is something else, and will remain hidden until the appropriate time.

To me, “hidden” means we can’t get it until heaven. Because it is possible for someone to lose their salvation and go to hell, after partaking of the Lord’s Supper. The angels guarded Adam and Eve from re-entering the garden after sinning, so that they could not eat of the tree of life and live forever in a sinful state.

The hidden manna is the eternal friendship of Christ and His unsearchable riches. 1Cor.2v6-12. Col.2v2,3. Eph.1v13,14.

Hidden manna is the spiritual understanding (food) found in parables hid from the lost.

Great point .Define the word to start with a proper meaning. (What is it? ... not when as to a time factor)

After a great display of God power moving a nation set aside for the special purposes of God. Men stared complaining and familiarity crept in. It as it was designed starting breeding contempt and hatred the natural cause of familiarity.

In the case of the Son of man . he came to his own and they received Him not. This was a false zeal for God familiarity had provided its work Just as Christ beforehand said it would. (They rejected me without cause.)

You could say the Jew had become familiar with the signs and wonders that were directed at the unbelievers. Signs are for those who rebel. Prophecy for those who walk by faith the unseen understanding.

The outward unconverted Jew that did not have the Spirit of Christ in them had expected to see ta sign before they world believe, It made them murmur against Moses just as it did against the Son of man.

The Jews in that way still seek after a sign, requiring them before they will believe. They always insisted that the Son of man perform a sign like a circus seal. Christ called them an evil generation (natural man) that does walk by sight... and promised them no sign would be given.

Parables today still hide the same spiritual truths ( What is it?) to those where familiarity has come in because of a false zeal of knowing God. .

I think it could be considered lukewarmness .When men start to take things for granted and therefore give up on working to maintain a relationship relationships can die..

Rather than spue the people out of His mouth this time he had mercy on them he fed them the spiritual food .The same kind of food disciples knew not of when Christ hid the meaning from them.

So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. Rev 3:18

The gold tried by fire I think would be the spiritual understanding he does give us. Gold represents the hot or cold believer.

Not the lukewarm that requires a sign

The "hidden manna" must be together with the meaning of the "white stone" and the "name" that is written within it. If they are not included with the "hidden manna," the meaning will continue to stay hidden.

Figure that out first, and then the hidden manna will no longer be hidden.

The white stone has been made smooth by the experiences in life with Christ Jesus. In the stone is a new name, a new character that has been refined, being conformed into the image, the "Name" of Christ Jesus. That is when the "mystery of the Gospel" was revealed, when those who understood Jesus Christ as the true Messiah. This understanding cannot be comprehended by those who don't believe in the truth.

Put the "hidden manna" together with these parables.

Matthew 13:44-46
[SUP]44 [/SUP]Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.
[SUP]45 [/SUP]Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:
[SUP]46 [/SUP]Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

With all these various answers I would think it is safe to say, ‘we don’t know for sure’ but it will be given to us on that Day.

[17] Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give that person a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to the one who receives it.
