Please note the Sabbath is not jewish or ever has been...it is GOD's Holy Time...and GOD wants us to remember it and keep it holy. It is all to please and honour GOD who has done so much for us ! We love Him !
You did not respond.

If Christ is the reality of Sabbath, why to return to the old testament observance of the week day.

Let us not dance around if it is Jewish or not. Tell me why, instead.

Certainly we are 'under Grace...but why, for how long...what for ? we are like criminals/sinners that have been 'pardoned from the death-penalty and being re-habilitated/retrained/changed/converted/transformed NOT to re-offend...that's what Grace offers us...and it takes disciplene to walk a 'new way of life with Jesus now in this lifetime...don't waste it !
Well every born again Christian in their heart wants to live as God desires them to, for that is where his laws have been placed that he desires them to follow.
But Pauls message is impossible for the little grey cells to fathom. You have to know you cannot be condemned by failing to observe the law in order for sin not to be your master. It seems, from what you write you fail to comprehend that

I truly believe you should meditaqte on this thought.

Our Maker went to the trouble to inscribe the Ten Commandments on stone tablets
Israel's redeemer gave them to Israel (Exod20)

only to give us the same taken from the stone tablets by God, Himself, and inscribed on our hearts when the Holy Spirit entered into us, we who believe Jesus christ.
these are the commands in Matt 19.16-19)

Is this not the truth? Have we not had this changed from the stone to the fleshy tablets of our hearts?
what you say is not the truth.

The seventh day will always follow the sixth day....... People always believed in going to church on the sabbath but somewhere along the line, a pope, it was changed from the seventh day to the first day......to say this makes sense would be to say the flesh over rules God..not so.

As for those commandments written on the heart, all of themetnion of them refer to them no longer being on stone, not omitting a one.

You seem to be fabricating the Word of God to suite you...in other words over ruling God.....not so my frient, not so.

If you want to celebrat the sabbath on Sunday, do without faulting others. I will not fault you, but do not tell folks black is white because you do not like it...that is just wrong.

The Holy Spirit dwells in all born again believers. The law God desires them to follow is written in their minds and placed in their hearts. Their sins and lawless deeds will be remembered no more. In their hearts they overflow with gratitude for what Christ did for them at Calvary, seven days a week.. They have spiritual rest in Christs sacrifice seven days a week, not one day. They meditate on Father and Son seven days a week(including Friday sundown to Saturday sundown), For Father and Son dwell in born again believers through the Holy Spirit who resides in them(John17:21) You cannot help but meditate on him who lives in you.
The Spiritual requirement of the fourth commandment should be observed seven days a week in born again believers, not one specific day.
Therefore, the spiritual requirement of the fourth commandments is upheld seven days a week in born again believers

From earliest times the church worshipped on the first day of the week (Acts 20.7) not the seventh

but somewhere along the line, a pope, it was changed from the seventh day to the first day.
Acts 20.7 ? There was no pope then. The pope is irrelevant,

As for those commandments written on the heart, all of the mention of them refer to them no longer being on stone, not omitting a one.
Those were the commandments specifically given to Israel. Jesus NEVER cited the Sabbath in His commandments,

You seem to be fabricating the Word of God to suite you...in other words over ruling God.....not so my frient, not so.
You simply do not DISCERN the word of God.

If you want to celebrat the sabbath on Sunday, do without faulting others.
Yes as God said, we will.

Let me see, when the creation week occurred the days were, day one, day two, day three, day four day five day six and day seven.

Shabbat means seven when it was used in the recounting of the first week, the week of creation.

It did not mean reast until it began to be applied to the name after the law of resting on the shabbat.

No onehere can make it the first day,.

No one here can say it means only to rest.

No one here even knos some of this b ecause they never cared.

God has not changed the order of creation, and I believe because with God a thousand years are as a day when it has past. During the Seventh Thousand years, according to the Hebrew Calendar, I will be resting with the King ruling on earth.

For all of you who have changed it to the first day of the week, it would be pitiful if your thousand years of peace were already past.

Mine is yet to come and it coincides with its symbol in this age, the Sabbath.

Now please, stop trying to convince those who know and believe Jesus that their years of peace have passed, they have not, but maybe yours have. That would be a pity.

Praise God it is raining here.........I pray all will pray it breaks the drought in a serious manner, amen.

PS......you folks who argue with the wind should realize it would be good for you to take your arguments to God that you may be proven right......... I have always taken my questions to Him. He did not tell me He had changed the order of creation, nor did He tell me we have resgt while yet trapped in this age.......you all go ahead and read, and show what you have accomplished for the souls of men in christ.......

Rev 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus, and for the word of God, and such as worshipped not the beast, neither his image, and received not the mark upon their forehead and upon their hand; and they lived, and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

Would you change the order of this occurrence? For myself, I will remain with the order given all that is by God, not what a mob comes along to dictate in His stead......this should not be.....speaking for God without the appointment to do so.

LOL I will.

No one here even knows some of this because they never cared.

I'm surprised that there is not a Seventh Day Adventist church near you. My problem is that my current schedule has me working on Saturday so that I am unable to attend at this time. I commend you in trying to keep the Sabbath in the correct way. If you have a computer you probably can find a service online. Glad to have you as part of our family. Welcome to CC.
aren't you supposed to refuse to work on sabbath though?

Yeah, its quite inconsistent. He would like to attend the church on Sabbath, because, well, he believes in Sabbath as a sacred day.

But he cant, because he works on Sabbath :D

According to the Old Testament Law he should be stoned to death or something.

Shabbat comes from שנ̇ט which came fro שנהץ. Now I have only read through the Old and New Testaments one time in Hebrew, and my typing in Hebrew is a little rusty, so I will transliterate for you, the expert in Hebrew.

Shabbat comes from Sheva or seventh. It came to mean rest long after its first mention.

There are many shabbats, but there is only one Seventh Day.........

now since your Hebrew is so good, in moderrn Hebe, Achshav ma atah rotze medaber .'ani?

I feel like maybe I need to post this verse on every page of this thread.

Concerning the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are My feasts.
Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation;
ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings.
These are the feasts of the LORD, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.

Leviticus 23:2-4

You could afflict your soul every week I guess,
but I don't believe it is necessary.

Three times thou shalt keep a feast unto Me in the year.
..
Three times in the year all thy males shall appear before the Lord GOD.

Exodus 23:14 & 17

I see a lot of straining over a gnat here.
Saturday or Sunday?
But one day is as another, isn't it?

You just got to do it, you saints.
When you do it, then you won't be wondering when to do it.
Do it like the Lord sets out in His law.

Doesn't matter if it is Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday, just do it.
In the third day, He will raise you up and you will live in His sight
Paul

And David said unto Jonathan,
Behold, tomorrow is the new moon, and I should not fail to sit with the King at meat:
but let me go, that I may hide myself in the field unto the third day at even.

Why do you tell me what anything means in Hebrew? My first six months in Israel was 1972......I stopped studying Hebrew due to my vision problems but vision problems brought me a better kind of vision...God has given it to me.

Jesus Christ has invited all to learn of Him directly. No one who learns from Him afflicts his soul every week.

He has taught the Books of Moses concerning the law and commandments in His light, He Who gave the law in the first place. If you learn of Jesus christ you will earn the law is no good without mercy, faith, and justice. I know what thismeans, and by the Example and teaching of Jesus Christ it is underscored.

Do not confuse obedience, a joy, with being afflicted or under the curse.......all who know the above live in grace and obey God.

Grac without works is the same as faith without works, nonexixtent. So obedience will not gain anyone heaven, but deliberate disobdienc will certainly jeapordize anyone's salvation.

I feel like maybe I need to post this verse on every page of this thread.

PS........I have also posted Paul's teaching on one man observing a day over another etc. My complaint in this thread is the constant accusations of "being under the law" by folks whom I do not condemn for observing Sunday, just for this teaching's manner of reasoning.

I do not like obedience being mocked because it is teaching disobedience in the guise of grace.

You did not respond.

Sorry friend but you mentioned the jewish thing in your other post and I was just answering to it.

What do you mean WHY ?

Isn't the 7th day rooted and founded in time itself and sanctified and hallowed by God as special to Him right at the beginning of creation...and as far as I can see is still here with us today !
True...God said to Israel to remember it...
obviously if they had forgotten it so had everybody else...but God did not tell everybody to remember it because He was working with Israel only because of Abraham's faithfulness....
and Israel was to become God's special people and an example to other nations Deut 4. God was drawing people into His work to make them part of what He was doing...since all like sheep had gone astray and were living 'as they pleased Gen 6v5...
that was never God's intention for mankind...we were created to be 'in HIS image ! and God started with Israel...
but they failed to respond to His teaching (see a little insight into their failures in 2Kgs ch 17, makes interesting reading).
Anyway old Israel failed in doing what God wanted and we read in Heb 8 that there was a fault with the people why they broke the first covenant.....thing was they lacked GOD's Power to help them keep His commandments....
but fast forward ! today 'spiritual Israel has GOD's Power in them to help do His work of saving people from death and total annihilation.

Sorry this went on a bit...tried to make it short and without a little back-ground info it is hard to make sense of anything...but you asked, and I'm trying to help.

Because this is posted I will reply here instead of a pm. I like all of the post, but one thing you pointed out and it impressed my soul is the way you say we are created in God's image. That is a great and wonderful thing upon which to meditate.

The immediate message to me fro your inspiration is that when we are born we begin out way, either back to God or the other way. WE learn of Jesus and follow HIm and in so doing God begins His own personal work in each of us, perfecting us until His Great and Glorious Day.

Unhappily if we do not come to Him it is to that other way, and that other influence not in the image of God..we become like he is more and more unless we turn from this world to His, God's, Kingdom. Yes you said all of this to me...thank you. All love in Yeshua, Jesus.
