Hello again....

For almost two month my update service from Windows for Windows 10 is not working. I have tried all of the fixes I have found to no avail, even the command prompt directions for stoppping the service, deleting software distribution files and enebling the service again...lnada.

Does anyon3e have a fix for this that is easy enough for me to apply? Thanks and God bless all.

Wow... I really wish my Windows 10 would stop updating.
That would like a dream...
a dream where everything doesn't break once a month.

: )

JaumeJ,
I'm sure somebody around here will have some suggestions.

Try Troubleshoot > Windows Update (type it in Cortana or find in Control Panel)

It could also be your Anti-Virus/Firewall software. What changes to software did you make when it started happening? Try temporarily disabling the AV and then try to update, but make sure you re-enable it.

When it was uploading the updates I think I was feeling the same way.

Apparently this problem is rampant, but so far no quick fix has been provided by Windows, and I am not so astute as to go beyond inserting program language provided by those "who know" into command prompt orr Windows Powershell....and so it goes.

My fear is it will eventually leave me behind......I woul not like that. I know I can go back to a former platform, keeping my files but i do not think it will keep my own software........if I must, I suppose eventually I will need tooooo.

Please forgive my oversight in not mentioning I have gone through the troubleshooter several times...why several? Hope springs eternal. God bless you......any other suggestions, I am here..

Yeh it's a proper version update with a few mods, eg. Windows Defender is a proper AV and anti-malware. The nicest feature though is the Night Light feature. Basically after 9pm it tones down the blue-light in the screen. There are some other bits but I haven't explored really. Microsoft are good at adding features and then no actual guide on them!

It is preparing to download and install now, telling me also that I am permitted to continue working elsewhere. Is this a free upgrade? I sure hope so..thank you......j

MJ......

Thank you a bundle! I have been trying for over a month to get this OS back up-to-snuff to no avail. I had no idea there was a place online to update.

In the past the updates have come to my updat facility, so I figured something was seriously wrong with mypc. At the moment the install has downloaded, checked the download, and is presently installing at 93%. It was moving along slowly but surely then at 90% is came to a real slow-down so I am praying it is going to take.

God bless you always.......I hope you are always here to help me out........you and everyone who is a willing.

Everything is working as it should thanks to this fix......... I did not receive an update notification on this platform update you have shown me.....apparently the updates were coming in for this version which was not yet installed, it is now, praie God, amen..

Try manually updating to the latest version anyway. You have to do this manually regardless (it appears).

I have truly learned now, by experience, the expression, "a sight for sore eyes." Now I may rest my peepers. Above..the proof of success..
