Wrongful execution is a miscarriage of justice occurring when an innocent person is put to death by capital punishment. Cases of wrongful execution are cited as an argument by opponents of capital punishment, while proponents suggest that the argument of innocence concerns the credibility of the justice system as a whole and does not solely undermine the use of death penalty.

A number of people are claimed to have been innocent victims of the death penalty. Newly available DNA evidence has allowed the exoneration and release of more than 20 death row inmates since 1992 in the United States, but DNA evidence is available in only a fraction of capital cases. Others have been released on the basis of weak cases against them, sometimes involving prosecutorial misconduct; resulting in acquittal at retrial, charges dropped, or innocence-based pardons.

The Death Penalty Information Center (U.S.) has published a list of 10 inmates "executed but possibly innocent". At least 39 executions are claimed to have been carried out in the U.S. in the face of evidence of innocence or serious doubt about guilt.

Since 1976 the United States has executed over 1,400 offenders: none of them have since been granted a posthumous exoneration. In the UK, reviews prompted by the Criminal Cases Review Commission have resulted in one pardon and three exonerations for people executed between 1950 and 1953 (when the execution rate in England and Wales averaged 17 per year), with compensation being paid.

well actually God does not love everyone

please provide scripture that indicates God loves everyone

yes, He does offer salvation to everyone but He knows all will not accept

you have the wrong idea of God's love. His love is holy and His justice is holy

ALL that God does is holy and His thoughts are above our thoughts and His ways are ABOVE our ways Isaiah 55

it seems you also may not know too much about the Manson murders

in Sharon's last minutes, she was begging for the life of her unborn baby according to one of the women who was there

article

right. we are told he was a thief. that seems to be a misdemeanor nowdays, but it was often punishable by death back in the day

is there a reason you seem to use conjecture on your part as though it were fact? it's not working
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Hatred stirreth up strifes; but love covereth all sins Proverbs 10:12

Romans 5 tells me God loves all. I won’t type the whole chapter. 5:6-8 “For when we were yet without strength, in due time, Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die, but God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

I suppose if you believe that Christ only died for the redeemed, then the verses in Romans don’t apply to everyone. I believe Christ died for the sins of the believing and unbelieving as stated in John 3:16.

God does love everyone whether or not they will accept them. I would pick up a bible sometime and read it, scriptures of Gods love is throughout that book. John 3:16 is a good place to start

I suppose if you ignore everything the Bible says about hell and those who refuse Christ, you can look down on anyone who has the unmitigated nerve to actually bring it up

I believe that God says WHOSOEVER WILL and I believe that because God says so. In His word.

it seems, from your other thread, you are leaning towards 'does not matter cause God forgives everyone in the end'

God does not love everyone. Read the Old Testament.

are you aware that God says He hates liars? is that a figure of speech?

22 The Lord hates liars, but is pleased with those who keep their word. Proverbs 12:22

and it's from Proverbs too!

I don’t understand why you are so angry. Everyone lies.

I don’t think ANYONE deserves to go to Heaven (I take that back, I think babies, little children and mentally retarded people are worthy if Heaven). That’s the great paradox- NONE of us deserve Heaven, yet we ALL can go if we accept Christ’s gift.

Grace is a funny thing, people rage against it. It upsets their sensibilities of what is right and what is fair and what is just.

Who knows what gruesome heinous things the thief on the cross committed? We know he was not JUST a thief. The Roman government would not have crucified a petty thief. Yet, Jesus told him “THIS day you shall be in Paradise with me.”

I know that God loves Charles Manson just as much as He loves Sharon Tate. I know that God died for Charles Manson just as much as He died for Sharon Tate. I know that if Sharon Tate called to Jesus in her last minutes, Jesus came and got her. I know that if Charles Manson called out for Jesus in his last minutes, Jesus came and got him. I know that if they are both in Heaven, she will forgive him and praise God for being loving enough to save all who call on His name.

I am glad that God operates by grace and not by justice. If He operated on a justice basis, not one of us would make Heaven. Not one of us is without sin.

musings

water is wet

it does not matter what you believe God should do or might do

He will do what He has planned to do whether or not some people are squeamish at the thought

there is no question we are saved by grace, but you are wrong saying saying there is no justice

the justice we deserved was meted out to Jesus

I'm going to leave off the discussion with you as this thread has run its course.

I am sorry that you are choosing to ignore who God is and what he has done for believers and non believers. He loves the sinner, but hates the sin. From Genesis to Revelation is full of examples of his love for everyone...as I said before, pick up a bible sometime :)

All Judgement is in the hands of God. In the case of Manson he knew the Bible to the extent of being able to memorize much of it including Revelation. He never repented or showed remorse for his crimes as far as anyone knows.

Not without consequence.

Ac 5:9 Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out.

Ananias and Sapphira.

I'll pray for him, and anyone gleeful about it--they'll need just as many prayers.
He's dead,no need to pray for him now. I wouldn't say Im giddy about it but he's now gotten his reward, live by the sword...

"I lift my eyes to you,
O God, enthroned in heaven.
We keep looking to the Lord our God for his mercy,
just as servants keep their eyes on their master,
as a slave girl watches her mistress for the slightest signal.
Have mercy on us, Lord, have mercy,
for we have had our fill of contempt.
We have had more than our fill of the scoffing of the proud
and the contempt of the arrogant."

A man this foolishly violent couldn't start a race war, but even as the dead bury their dead--his actions still stir plenty of strife. I wouldn't know what else to do, but to pray; inviting to do the same.

On the Reelz channel I saw a documentary following his life of scandal, the women who followed him are crazy. One of the women Susan Atkins (I won't post the video just look it up) was interviewed 6 years after the murders took place. She has the sweetest voice you'll ever hear yet the way she describes the murders, she has no remorse nor takes any responsibility. Supposedly she found God in prison but the way she spoke she was pure evil. All his followers were crazy
