Most likely charismaniacs are those who taste the power of God, then ruuuuun with it without tempering it with wisdom from His Word. Sort of like zeal without knowledge.
I'm wondering why they aren't interested in Biblical teaching if they are born again but prefer the weirdness instead. Like Bethel Church in Redding CA. They prefer sucking on tombstones and claiming feathers and gold, and diamonds fall from the ceiling rather than learning what the Bible actually says.

So....you saying that he has demons???
Actually, no. While it can certainly be taken as a snarky comment, the point is not merely to be snarky, but to suggest that his hypercritical prejudice comes from somewhere other than Christ.

As for the wisdom of "So you're saying" summaries, watch how Jordan Peterson responded to Cathy Newman... it's on YouTube.

Personal attacks let me know I'm on the right track.
You haven't acknowledged that your opening post poisoned the conversation from the start.

Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

You don't know about the Charismatics heterodoxy?
I belonged to a charismatic-leaning Pentecostal Church for a number of years, so I do know something of it, yes. I could almost say it was one reason I left that particular church. However I have to add that they (my old church) are more orthodox in overall doctrine than you might think. I lack the experience of attending other and fuller charismatic assemblies to say much more than that at this point in time.

I'm open to further spiritual discovery in this area. Go for it!

I already defined what is a Charismatic. My question is why would they choose to be one given they claim to be born again by the same Holy Spirit who inspired the Bible?

You have the right to think wrong. The fact of the matter is that what defines Charismatics is their departure from the teachings of Jesus and the Apostles.
So why not get stuck into the Catholics, Anglicans and Lutherans?
They all claim to have the Holy Spirit as well.

I am right because I am orthodox not heterodox as the Charismatics.

No, really? You mean that if some Charismatic (Charismatics didn't exist until after WWII) told Jesus that they are just as much an incarnation of God as Jesus, that Jesus would not bash in their skull with a rock? Wow, I didn't know that!
I dont remeber Jesus bashing anyones head with a rock, he actually said that the one without sin should cast the first stone. Plus everyone who follows Christ gets born new in the spirit. That is foundation doctrine.
Jesus wouldnt bash anyone, he would tell them the truth, shake the dust off of his feet and go on. Which u arent doing. U are spreading division and hatred.

what sect of orthodoxy are you? Why did you not tell me what your gospel is, and what you think theirs is? This does not answer that question

I think you are using a broad brush against people. Narrow the focus or stop bashing, it really is your choice.

Charismatics were born out of the Catholic Renewal, this included Lutherans, Catholics, etc.,

Pentecostals[Church of God, Assembly of God, Apostolic Faith, Holiness, Oneness] were all born out of doctrinal splits.

The you have those splinter groups that were usually from the Assembly of God and followed the WOF movement and stayed there. You also have another group called the NAR that are demonic as can be and IHOP and A bunch of other

Then you have the very Biblical and correct Full Gospel believing groups that are not charismatics, Pentecostal , NAR, Prosperity, WOF, IHOP etc.

These are usually the 4 square, Nazarene, and non-denominational Full Gospel places. The church of the Nazarene were the Pentecost/Full Gospel believers that came out of the Methodists, when the Methodists shifted to more liberal theology and social justice issues. Methodists by and large are now returning more towards their Wesleyan roots, which is very Biblical as Wesley preached and tuaght it. The Nazarene's never departed from things like progressive sanctification, the gifts and 5 fold ministry gifts.

When you swipe with that foolish, broad brush you are slinging, you anger people and even me, because you are suggesting I am something I am not and imply I condone behavior and false teachings I detest.

I don't recall your asking that at the start, but OK.

I would say peer pressure to a certain degree. That's what it was in my old church (OC), anyway. "New Wave" Charismatics don't go that far back, early 60's, and my OC caught "the Wave" in '85. Some of it stuck.

Our founding pastor didn't push it as much as the associate pastors did, and it's pretty much a small group which one has to be invited to join. I was invited (and here it was more of a shove than a push as they said I was 'ready' for it) at one point, but I attended one class and said no thank you.

I left the church a year later when I moved for a job, but when I eventually moved back I found a different church partly because of what they were teaching. They called it simply Advanced Spiritual Gifts classes. I think the content would be another thread.

Another reason I guess is gullibility. Not all of it is real. What my dad used to call Holy Rollers. Traveling revivals, some of the tv ministries. Like used car salesman sometimes. Snake oil salesman. Just because someone is born again doesn't mean they have the wisdom to not get taken in by smoke and mirrors.

He will throw the rock one day, And all of this stuff will be destroyed, as he comes sets up his throne. Then everyone will know the truth./

I'm definitely spying a bit of bashing going on here. "Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge." James 4:11
