I guess I will never understand why many Christians adopt the liberal talking points of “Liberal Theology “. This is synonymous with the thinking of “ Is there a God”. The word Of God is clear >

Christians do not go to Hell. If they are a “Christian" then they have placed their faith and Trust in the word of God to keep them from falling. If a Christian has sinned, they have an advocate with the Father who is faithful to forgive and cleanse from all un-righteousness. WE are to keep our eyes and heart fixed on Jesus and trust HE will not let us go.

I am in awe when I see this question rationalized or even entertained. The Word of God is very clear that those who come to HIM must have faith and Believe!
.
I am trying to understand what you are saying by "I am in awe when I see this question rationalized or even entertained"?

I do not think that anyone here is saying that a Christian who is believing in the finished work of Christ will go to hell.

I think the OP is very concerned about those "Christians" who claim to be Christians, but are not believing in Christ.

The question Chester is not a NEW one :). In FACT THE ROOTS OF THIS VERY QUESTION comes from a liberal theology teaching. I also made my statement without another quote attached to it. Therefore, it was not directed to anyone here even if the question does come from those of a liberal theology mindset. You say

“I think the OP is very concerned about those "Christians" who claim to be Christians, but are not believing in Christ.”
This is the point I am making. That statement is not even supported by the word of God. No where in the Bible does it say God half saved someone who trusted in the work of the Christ. Either they are saved or they are not saved. You and I cannot fully know BUT God does. Because HE is the only one who can discern our heart.

No. That is NOT what the OP is presenting. This is what we were told: "A Christian who remains lukewarm would end up going to hell if he/she does not repent."

It did not say "one who believes he is a Christian but is not really a child of God". It says "A Christian", meaning a genuine Christian. So there are some who are deluded enough to believe this nonsense.

There's no such thing as "forfeiting" salvation.

Evidently you need to properly understand the finished work of Christ, the grace of God, and the totality of salvation.

All these erroneous ideas float around because people are not really studying and BELIEVING the Word of God. Which means believing God, not one's own imagination. Also salvation is not a set of keys which can be lost and dumped in the LOST AND FOUND DEPARTMENT.

If there is no such thing as forfeiting salvation, then earthly life is meaningless, since everyone will be saved. Salvation is offered to every human being. We either accept it and receive it, or reject it and forfeit it.

More fantasizing. Why would earthly life be "meaningless" if Christians could forfeit their salvation? Why would "everyone" be saved if Christians could forfeit their salvation?

Those who reject Christ condemn themselves. But those who receive Christ as Lord and Savior do not -- and cannot -- forfeit their salvation.

Sorry but your post does not make sense to me.
Non believers have nothing to forfeit, they never had salvation in the first place.
If they do not believe why would life be meaningless?

Since everyone is saved is 'Universalism'
Therefore there is salvation period.
Everyone will be saved.
No need to place our trust and faith in Jesus.

Here what is frightening.
Your focus.

You obviously believe that one can forfeit salvation (as do others on this forum)
This leads to a plethora of issues.
From how is one saved in the first place?
Is it baptism, speaking in tongues being sinless and so on, or is it by faith?

So how does one maintain salvation?
How can they forfeit it?

The danger of what you say is to make someone place their focus on themselves and take it off God.
Doing, doing and doing rather than being.

Being the children of God, who will walk out of love of him as a result of what he has done rather in the hope bring accepted by what we do.

After reading this message you will know the answer to this question: “Will Some Christians Go To Hell?”

Some Christians after accepting JESUS CHRIST as their LORD and SAVIOR, they do nothing with the Word of GOD. They are laid-back Spiritually; they’re Lukewarm, neither hot nor cold.
Such Christians are called “Lukewarm Christians.” They think of themselves as “normal” Christians. They jeer at some others as “too Spiritual” or fanatical, but they themselves are Spiritually inactive, lethargic and complacent about the things of the Spirit.

Now let us look at what the LORD JESUS said about such people.
The LORD’S disposition towards such Spiritual Lassitude and Ineffectiveness is revealed in Matthew 25:14- 30, John 15:1-3, Revelation 3:15-16 and in many other scriptures.
HE said, “I am the True Vine, and my Father is the Vinedresser. Every branch of Mine that bears no fruit, He takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit (John 15:1-3). I am the Vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. If a man does not abide in Me, he is cast forth as a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into fire and burned (John 15:5-6).”
And again JESUS said, “I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of my Mouth (Revelation 3:15-16).”
This is serious, coming from the Lips of the MASTER (JESUS CHRIST).

A Christian who remains lukewarm would end up going to hell if he/she does not repent.
If you’ve been a Lukewarm Christian, the LORD says, “Be zealous therefore, and repent.” To be zealous means to be afire. It means to let your Spiritual fire burn with unquenchable intensity. The LORD JESUS says, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in Heaven (Matthew 5:16).”

Every one of us must take a stand for the GOSPEL and be effective in our Christian walk. Be on fire for the LORD.
Let the things of the Spirit excite you. Get into the flow of the Spirit. Be known as a burning and a shining light. Be filled with the Spirit (Ephesians 5:18).

Thank You HOLY FATHER for Thy WORD today in JESUS’ NAME.
Thank You LORD JESUS, those whom you love, you reprove and chasten.
JESUS IS LORD.
Particularly I'm just glad you are posting in Bible discussion forum.

Yes, some Christians can and will go to hell. It's in the word of God. Read Matthew 7:21, Jesus is speaking here which says " Not everyone who says to me lord, lord will enter the kingdom of God, but the one who does the will of my father who is in heaven. There are a lot of Christians in the world but there are also the ones who are doing the will of the father. They are considered saints. It's important not to become a Christian who is lukewarm or doesn't do the will of God.

What is in the Word of God is that there are some who are truly saved and others who have made a profession and even believe that they are saved but it is not an inward reality. When Christ says "I never knew you" He is speaking of those who do not have Christ and the Holy Spirit within. So they are not really children of God.

I do not see your application in scripture . No Christian will go to hell. remember Jesus said depart from mE I NEVER KNEW YOU. For Christ to KNOW YOU you have to be saved, Born again, filled with the Spirit , a Christian.

all of Matthew 7:21-23.

100 Scriptural Proofs That Jesus Christ Will Save All Mankind

1 Cor 15:21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. 23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming. 24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. 25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
We have a lot in common. God is far more loving than most suspect.

Greetings Truthcomber,

That scripture that you provided is directed at believers in Christ, not the unsaved. Those who will "be made alive" is in reference to when the Lord appears to gather the church, each group in his own order. It is not speaking about unbelievers. You are simply misapplying the scripture to refer to all people.

Furthermore, Jesus already tells us in his word that the majority of people are on their way to condemning judgment in the lake of fire.

"Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the way that leads to life, and only a few find it." - Mark 7:13-14

As you can see, in comparison, many will and have entered through the gate that leads to destruction and only a few in comparison find life by going through the narrow gate. Jesus is that gate and anyone who does not go through him will not enter into life.

Truthcomber is not really interested in the truth. He has posted a link to a Universalist website which propagates the false gospel that in the end everyone will be saved. But he has never stopped to ask himself, if that is true, why should anyone bother with the propagation of the true Gospel?

All these references to
weeping and gnashing of teeth have one thing in common the undeniable fact that those who do not belong to Christ will suffer a terrible fate. These are not Christians but people who have a form of godliness but deny its power ( by not being born again).

To answer the OP, there will not be one single Christian in hell. However, there will be many PROFESSING Christians there. See Matthew 7:21-23

Truthcomber, i noticed that you didn't highlight the statement that clarifies those that will be made alive in verse 23: THEY THAT ARE CHRIST'S. Everybody will not be saved. That is false doctrine and directly contradicts Jesus' teaching.
