Sorry Angela., I was not refering to you in that post and my clarity is just as it always was. I posted before I even saw your post. I was reposting again about how we are each going through issues in our lives and we do not all go through the same thing in the same way. You and your experiences are not mine and vs/vs. Ben sharing what he knows is not a personal admonishment to you. He is only sharing what has helped him and the doctor that he liked. Not anything wrong with that.
I have my own beliefs about healing from the Bible and I also have my own opinions about eating that may not line up with yours or anyone else's and that is OK. There is nothing wrong with that and on a chat site we can take or leave what others say but we cannot tell them what to say or not to say. You don't have that right. You're not Robo the owner of the site. You can write your opinions about your experiences but they apply only to you and your unique situation.
You can't tell Ben to stop sharing here for instance. You don't have any right to tell anyone what they can or cannot share here. I like what Ben shares and I don't want him to stop sharing in the unique ways he does. He is a blessing to many of us here on cc.
So I will admonish you again to agree to disagree and realize there are many many different Christians here all with differing views and experiences. We all share and we all are valuable.
Our body types are all different. You may need to eat differently than me. But if you feel good about what you are eating, it would be wrong for me to say otherwise,
When my my oldest son was a toddler, till School age, I fed him well balanced vegetarian meals. I balanced amino acids, very healthy, organic foods. I would visit my parents and they would feed him meat. Lots of meat. He would eat it like he was starving. So, I continued to eat vegetarian, but made meat meals for him and my husband. My son grew up to be healthy, hardly ever sick. He was an ectomorph, I am a mesomorph. My husband is like me, after he got diabetes, I went back to a mostly meat free diet for him. He still grills the occasional steak, once or twice a year, but he has stayed stable for 10 years.
Really no one should be telling someone else how to eat. That should be between us and our doctor.I have not seen you offer advice about eating, Joanie. But Ben has gone overboard in his lecturing everyone about what to eat. And that is not just me. If there is a target on Ben’s back, he certainly drew it with his ignorant comments!
Plus, I looked at his diet, clearly told him I eat that diet already, and it has not cleared up my RA inflammation. But he continued to lecture me that if I didn’t want to do it, then I wouldn’t be healed like the rest of the people who tried that diet. No, it does not heal my RA.
There are over 100 different kinds of Arthritis and countless other kinds of autoimmune diseases. I have a certain variety of RA, that I have only met one other person that had the same symptoms. She is a Jewish lady that lives in Chicago. There are also different causes for inflammation, even in the same person. When I started getting tendon flares 3 years ago, for the first time ever, I assumed it was RA, although none of the RA meds helped. Not even prednisone! I have so many new hand deformities, and I can barely walk from a tendon flare which damaged my knee. When I stopped eating gluten in January, it was the first time the tendon flares were gone, plus my stomach was not hurting. So that will take a while to get back into, getting the gluten out of my body. But, I’m not expecting up touch my RA, which is a different kind of inflammation.
Right now my liver is stressed, I am off 2 major meds, starting to to feel RA flares, in the joints. Seeing the doctor right away, he is going to flush one drug out of my body. Please pray to improve this situation which would be greatly appreciated.
PS. Even in double blind studies in research not everyone responds the same to different meds, or other meds. And Placebo Effect is so high, that in the original studies fot Remicade, and the end of the year trial 52% of the people who got the Placebo felt significantly better. The catch? Their hands were xrayed at the beginning of the clinical trial and at the end. The people in the Placebo group showed serious joint erosion.yet these people thought they were better. It had to go to the Ethics panel, and it was judged wrong to allow to have these people think they were improving when they weee getting worse.
Ben doesn’t begin to understand blind clinical studies. It could be done for a diet. Instead, this doctor just trots all the brainwashed “proof” that his diet works, when a good portion is likely Placebo Effect. Yet Ben continues to throw out this folksy and unscientific open non experiment, and say that he knows better than I do how to treat my disease. And you defend him.
When someone says, “We need to eat a healthy, balanced diet I agree totally. It when he tells me to read and start a experimentally unproved diet, which I am already eating, that is giving medical advice. He knows my condition, he tells me pointedly what to do, then is taken aback when I refuse to do quack nostrums, because I have experimented with every diet, and they do not stop RA, although gluten inflammation is certainly reduced! (For me, not saying for anyone else!)
