2 Peter 2:1-3
But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. 2And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. 3And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

Stones, in acts 2,1 the coming of the Holy Spirit at pentecost, no one got the hand layed on. In acts 8, 10 and 19 it had to lay on the hands, because the jews had to be convinced that gentiles and the samaritians are also meant with the Gospel. This was important for the jews. In acts 19 the believers according John the baptist were not born again till they received the Holy Spirit. Also it was important for them to got this from the apostles as autorative witness.
To make out of this an doctrine that everybody who receives the Holy Spirit is speaking in tongues is eisegese, but not what the word of God teaches.
And if you will follow this teaching consequent, than the doctrine with getting the Holy Spirit as an expierience seperatet from the bornagain expierience is an false teaching, because you have for this no biblical example.
You cessationists want to take out the word experiences from the scriptures. This is our union with God.....He shows up! From the old to the new. But, unbelief which is turning away from the LIVING GOD, will definitely hinder. Exactly what slewfoot would want.

A powerless unit of believers in Passover only.

I'm leaving this stand as I said but I do repent for that last statement. The blood is our entrance and keeping power for heaven. And for approach to Father.

But, now is the time for Holy Spirit on earth. He is our power for all things. We have none of our own. We can do nothing without Him. The very reason Jesus sent Him to us. For this is the Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead, and empowered Him to glorify Father.

Now Father says Son!!!! But, is only through Father Himself, His Holy Spirit...do you see?

By grace through faith...you will have to find another user name for grace is actually the power of Holy Spirit making us into the image of Son.

The divine influence upon the heart, with the reflection in the life, including gratitude. What do you think the Divine Influence to be?

Salvation begins with the understanding and putting faith into the blood of Jesus through His Cross. A seed or the Word or the Spirit of Christ.

But, Jesus operated by the gifts of Holy Spirit who is the Spirit of Father. He desires we have the same.

To have your focus only on character, and what is good....what tree is that?

The baptism is more than just morality. Which basically is do this, don't do that. A result Isaiah says of rejecting the message of those tongue speakers.

The problem for you Wolfwint and your cessationist buddies is that Pentecost is alive and well.
All around the world there is tremendous Holy Spirit revival with thousands and thousands of people daily being converted by
the full gospel of salvation and then being baptized by full immersion and also then being baptized in the Holy Spirit (most often
through the laying on of hands) and these people speak out in new tongues.
It happens because they believe.
Then comes the dramatic - the miracles; the healings; lives transformed immediately; addictions taken away.

And yet those who love their dead churches where the power of God by his Holy Spirit is absent have the audacity, the cheek,
to point to the Spirit-filled churches and declare them to be fake.
Oh, how the Apostles truly wrote that in the last days that the truth shall be spoken evil of, and that there would be mockers.
It matters not what unbelievers blog on CC - in the real world Pentecost is happening big time throughout the world.

Relax and be happy for those hundreds of thousands of converts who are entering the Kingdom of God.

I just listened to the video that gracethroughfaith has on his posts.

I can see why those who have never had an encounter with the Living God would be suspicious. This is a Catholic priest who faked tongues, and set up meetings for the focus to be on him with flood lights, and he is painting this picture with a broad brush of the whole Pentecostal movement. And the Charismatic movement moreso since he is Catholic.

Am glad he repented, but he threw the baby out with the bathwater.

We are to believe the Word and what it says. The body of Christ began and will end in the same power Jesus walked with. He said Father is greater....and He mean't the Holy Spirit who empowered Him, for He did nothing but what Father revealed to Him, and said nothing except what He heard when in ministry.

If we are filled, we will be like Jesus in every way...so it's not just power to minister but speaking truth. And living true.

Relax .Here you get everyone worked with the Holy ghost revival . Why not rather study it can be relaxing.?

Will you look to the foundation of the doctrine today? Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow is not for sure. Why wait? Plenty here to help you through it. Do the Pentecostals have a chill pill sign ?I know there is one for Holy laughter. I have experienced a few some shows have Holy sadness to help off set the balance.

The foundation. It goes something like this . "Yet for all of that ( prophecy) they refuse to hear me ' They love their oral tradition of men as a higher authority than all things written in the law and prophets. he in affect said . I will mock those who mock me with stammering lips . Roll your eyes well I will roll heads.

I am getting excited waiting for your new adventure. Which verse would you recommend we begin with . (Isaiah 28)

No, Stones, but I dont Take expierience over scripture. Till Now No one could Show me from the scripture that your teaching is right. Only expierience is for me not proof enough. For that to much false Spirits on the way to deceive the believers.

Well, die question always is which Spirit is behind the teachings.
You are even not able to Show me that your teaching is older then 120 Years and not to find taught in the bible.
Can you tell me why the pentecostal and charismatic movements Made from the smalest gift( speaking in tongues) a Gift which is uses tomidentify if someone received the Holy Spirit ore is fillled with Him? It became the most important Gift, the Holy Spirit den give. It became the Ticket for to proof that somebody has the Holy Spirit. Where in the bible this was taught?
Visit in Family Forum hanania1 Post. He is suffering in a pentecostal Church in Tansania and needs help.
The Holy Spirit is a Spirit of truth. How it comes then that Special in pentecostal and charismatic movement false teachings are taught? From in your eyes spiritfilled People who speak in tongues?
Btw God is glad for every lost soul, who comes to him. Thats right! But to whom People turn, if there is a false teaching/Spirit behind?

It matters not what you blog on CC and it matters not that people choose worldly churches over Spirit-filled churches.
God is getting on with the job of gathering in his sheep -those who will listen to his voice - and they are entering the
Kingdom of God.
Be happy in your church.

Yes Waggles, and He gives us the opportunity to be a part of His work, if we will, the others merely attend churches and talk about Him, not with Him.
Job tells us 33-14 I believe, "God speaks first one waym then another, though you don't perceive it", Once we begin to pursue Him and He reveals His work we can perceive what He is doing, it is our responsibility to learn and grow in His ways.
best wishes

Cherry picking a video to support a position doesn't come under the Galatians 5 example of how His should be.
His own watch what He directs them to watch, says what He directs them to watch. Leaves behind those who insist on vain babbling about what He died to bring us on Pentecost, Jesus Himself told us it is better for us that He go for He would send the Comforter.
bye

No, I love revelation seven. And I agree with your thoughts. What I see missing is the teaching of the Victorious Saviour over all of the power of the enemy, then the laying on of hands to receive. I do know what you are intimating.

If we are Spirit, no longer flesh, it stands to reason that we all will have a spiritual tongue. (And we are Spirit).

I just heard a new phrase last evening while watching Awaken The Heart, Jennifer and Munday Martin at a meeting in another state, broadcasting on Facebook this weekend. The heavenly identity. Am hearing and seeing this in scripture too, but never heard the phrase before. Sons are awakening now.

Sorry, off topic again, :(

I thought you would get what I was saying

no. you are on topic. all of this speaking in tongues stuff is baby talk compared to other things

sadly, some will never get off the pablum and some are choking on the spoon

Jesus is victorious but we pay a price on this earth when we pick up that sword

Wolf, the church began with Pentecost. All were baptized in Holy Spirit. The apostles made sure if it by the laying on of hands. And Paul said we should not be behind in the gifts. It’s the way....but for some they have gone astray. So the Word is going to say that after believing, the King receives us and places His seal of approval on our spirit man. It’s a forever eternal seal. A good topical study is the word sealed in the OT plus new. One will never doubt. But, Pentecost, the experience came along with this. So we all should expect it and not doubt....because it’s the scriptural way the body of Jesus moves on earth.
see Paul said 'they' (believers he was writing to) knew the guile of the devil...understood how he works

it can be a very deep subject and deeper for some than others

Yes,for anyone operating in the gifts,if someone wants to speak in tongues after recieving the baptism,i am sure someone full of the spirit could help them break free into speaking in tongues.
I am also sure many might mistreat them, make them feel bad or whatever.

Offence is a poison.
Backsliders are ,for the most part offended believers.
I was alone ... had read a book written by a couple who were Christians but had not been filled. this was years ago so I don't recall all the details...but they did search and received and I said to myself..well if that's real, I want that. haha became saved the same way

I was 5 when saved and I think 18 when I received the infilling with speaking in tongues. have come a long way since then

yes offence is a terrible stumbling block

there is something Jesus says about that:

Jesus Warns of Offenses
1 Then He said to the disciples, “It is impossible that no offenses should come, but woe to him through whom they do come! 2 It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones. 3 Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. 4 And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day returns to you, saying, ‘I repent,’ you shall forgive him.”
Luke 17
